Alas, the ‘future of beauty’ opens tomorrow at the flagship Saks Fifth Avenue location in NYC! Today, Charlie and I took a sneak peek of the new beauty floor, which took a trip upstairs to the 2nd floor. No longer in the lobby the space could not be more epic!
Everything is white marble and so open with incredible lighting! The move and expansion includes 58 new brands to the floor, and a plethora of space to house them in! The new floor is 32,000 square feet and now features more than 120 color cosmetics, skincare, fragrance and wellness brands.
On Tuesday, Saks Fifth Avenue unveiled their first permanent, one-stop location for Blink Brow Bar, Trish McEvoy, and Nails inc. Housed within a modern installation, Beauty on 5 allows customers to receive expert advice, throw their own Beauty on 5 pamper party, shop exclusive products, and experience an artistic manicure while sipping tea and savoring a curated British menu of light snacks. In beauty junkie terms, it’s a one-stop primping and pampering mecca!

Which service will you be indulging in before holiday party season?
Attention Saks Fifth Avenue shoppers — or anyone that wishes they could frequent and afford to regularly shop the retailer (*hand raised*), the brand has been making ginormous leaps and bounds to be more accessible then ever. For starters there’s Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH, which carries top designers you’re used to seeing at Saks Fifth Avenue at up to 55% off the retail price. For any of you that are new to Saks OFF 5th because you don’t live near one of their locations (ahem, us New Yorkers!), there’s great news, last month the retail chain launched a website!
This morning, I stopped by Saks Fifth Avenue for the official unveiling of their new fragrance floor. While the location has not changed, just about everything else about the space has. For starters ten of the brands (including Creed, Hermes, Bond No.9 New York, Diptyque, Le Labo, Panhaligon, Kilian, Acqua di Parma, Cartier and CHANEL) are now separated as if they we’re their own boutique, allowing the brands to use their counter space to show off their distinct personalities.
Josie Natori (as in the woman behind Natori lingerie) has launched her first ready-to-wear boutique at Saks Fifth Avenue on their newly renovated fourth floor.
Launching with her Resort 2011 collection, the line is an embodiment of the art of the Geisha and spirit of the Samurai, with silhouettes that resemble reworked traditional kimonos and origami-like shapes. Inspired by women, Josie wanted to create a timeless collection (whether it be worn today or years from now), which moved effortlessly from day to night and could be layered up or down to compliment our busy lives. A mix of great basics, prints and fabrications, I’m smitten with the red jacket (pictured left on Josie Natori)… so much that I actually borrowed it for a picture with the designer.
Which of course as soon as she took the jacket off, I was all about the black dress she had under it (I’m like that mouse in If You Give A Mouse a Cookie). I love the pointed sleeves on it! Some other favorites from the collection includes:
This necklace blows my mind! It’s so editorial (I wish I could pull it off!).
If you haven’t been to the 4th floor at Saks post-renovation, definitely check it out! It’s beautiful and so much more shopable, housing the likes of brands including Ralph Lauren, Tahari, Burberry, Tory Burch, and now Josie Natori!
