What a night, hosting and producing Patricia Field’s 80th birthday! And did I mention it was a surprise? (No pressure).
The celebration took place at the Lower East Side Speakeasy Space, Fig 19, where we took over the gallery space and cocktail bar.
It was an incredible evening filled with an iconic fashion scene, from Fern Mallis, Kelly Cutrone, Miss J, The Blonds, Orfeh, Robert Verdi, Daphne Rubin-Vega, and Anthony Haden-Guest, to Leah McSweeney, among many others, who stepped out to SURPRISE the legendary costume designer.
Fashion Group International’s Rising Star Awards Luncheon took place Tuesday afternoon at the Pier Sixty One, Lighthouse space. With honorees and presenters including Jason Wu, Ken Downing, Kelly Cutrone, Freddie Leiba, Kerby Jean-Raymond, Tracy Reese, Nina Garcia, and Gary Wassner, all delivering inspiring speeches for this generation of nominees and winners.
EXTRA, EXTRA! Music festivals are back, and I’m breaking down all the must-have pieces you need to complete your look with Extra TV! After an amazing weekend at Coachella, we have so many amazing festivals to look forward to. Here’s what you need to know…
When it comes to sunnies, Sunglass Hut has you covered. This season it’s all about good classics like the Clubmasters Classics from Ray-Ban or white frames like the one featured in the segment from Burberry’s.
As a closet 34D to 34DD I’ve turned over a new leaf of going for fitted zipper in the back crop tops that double as a bra. I had a few made while in Vietnam from Yaly Couture and it’s been a game changer. I also discovered body tape after my friend Makeda from Glamazon Diaries raved about them. And as someone always on the hunt for tapes and hacks for busty women, I gave it a go with this look for an extra lift.
Being recently engaged, I want to try any type of shapewear, corsets, body tapes and beyond before my wedding day. So many wedding dresses have a low back that I want to start experimenting now with what can lift me and work with my future gown.
Have any good shapewear suggestions for me? Drop me a comment or message me on Instagram @prettyconnected.

I always try to recall how long I’ve known Stacy but between admiring her work and our run ins at events the line is blurred and all I can answer that with is… a while. She’s a true inspiration and someone who has more job titles than me, and somehow does it all and manages to always have a smile and not a hair out of place. I’m so proud to call her my friend and she’s the only person I know that uses Post-It’s the way I do, in bulk. To say I admire her is an understatement and so excited to have her for this weeks boss series. So here we go…
Tell us about yourself?
I am the Founder & Creative Director of BOY MEETS GIRL®, a young contemporary streetwear brand founded in 2001. We have also been coined as “the original give-back athleisure brand.” I am a proud mom of son @dylanreidigel. In my sleep I write a lifestyle blog, Behind the Seams™ with Stacy Igel and also co-created and co-host the #MOMSGOTTHIS podcast which was recently featured in Forbes “Podcasts Created by Women You Need to Be Listening To Right Now!” And is up for the 2018 People’s Choice Podcast Awards. Charity and giving back has always been a big focus in everything I do. I have been a chair several years for the Young Survival Coalition ILP Gala: https://fashionweekdaily.com/stacy-igel-young-survival-coalition and I am a brand ambassador for the NSCC’s BullyBust campaign. I am also a frequent lecturer & panelist on subjects such as social media, branding & entrepreneurship.
You do it all! How do you time manage? Are there any apps/tools you use to make your life easier?
Every day I am learning. I use my Outlook calendar, I use my BOY MEETS GIRL® notebooks for meeting notes, and I recently bought a BLOOM daily planner that I am mixing into all the above to keep me organized. I use my memopad a lot, as well as EverNote and Google Docs. I also can’t forget about Post-Its! They’re all over my desk.
What advice do you have for new entrepreneurs?
Be prepared to work like you’ve never worked before.
Being a talented designer is not enough. You need to learn how to be an effective marketer, networker, salesperson, service provider, writer, stylist, merchandiser and
If you’re one of the lucky people who are in NYC today you can get your hands on the limited edition MAC Cosmetics x PUMA sneaker, for everyone else they will officially be launching May 17th at all Six:02 locations and on their website.
The collection included three colors based on MAC Cosmetic’s best-selling lip shades Lady Danger (coral-red), Sin (deep dark blue red/wine) and Creme D’Nude (pale muted peach beige).
It doesn’t get any better then a press trip to Tulum with Miraclesuit, a swim brand that boosts making you look 10lbs lighter. Which after letting my body hibernate all winter, I desperately needed. While I find statements like that generally gimmicky; upon putting their suit on and watching everything be lifted and sucked in, it was like I had my 20s body back! Unfortunately my old abs weren’t included. You can feel the quality in these suits.
Now for my confession. I basically corset my boobs on a daily basis and I am more apt to be in a sports bra, oversized top than a tight fitting dress or regular bra because I’m a 34DD and totally self conscious. To make bathing suit shopping that much more difficult, my big boobs are coupled with my long torso making it next to impossible for me to wear regular suits. In fact I’ve ordered so many XL bikini tops from every major department store and return 90% of them because
Introducing Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel! Our new children’s book which hit #1 new release on Amazon!
A portion of the proceeds from every sale ($1 USD) will be donated to support animal welfare and rescue organizations.
Based on the true story of our founder, Lara Eurdolian King and her husband, James who traveled to Palm Springs on vacation, where they unexpectedly meet Charlie; a senior Pomeranian dog living in the lobby of their hotel up for adoption.
Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel is a timeless “tail” of love, friendship, and dog adoption. With stunning illustrations and a message showing that a family is a family, no matter what it looks like, this book is sure to capture the heart of every young reader—and even adults too!
Charlie was dog #42 to be rescued through the hotels pet adoption program, where they partner with a local animal shelter and let one dog live in the lobby, and when it gets rescued a new dog moves in. The property has helped hundreds of dogs get rescued.
The children’s book is about Charlie, the tour guide at the ‘Pom Springs Hotel’ who helps show families around the property, all the while looking to be adopted and find his forever family. During his tours he introduces the hotel guests to his animal friends that all have unique blended families. The turtles live with the bunnies, the swans live with the ducks and their ducklings… illustrating through animals, Charlie and his friends teach the kids that there are all different types of families.
All of the animals are based on real characters that lived or regularly visited the property.
Our dream is to inspire more hotels and doorman buildings to open their lobbies and join paws with local shelters to foster animals and get more involved with events to help them find their forever home.
Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel, $18.99 is available on prettyconnected.com/shop, Amazon, Target, Barnes & Nobles and select book stores across the country!

Earlier this week, my friend and style + trend expert, Brittney Levine & I hosted the launch of the Bandladies Showroom. They carry four clothing lines that are so edgy and cool. Really incredible textures, prints and editorial pieces. We invited our friends for the ultimate girls night. We’re talking, Williamsburg Pizza, specialty cocktails by Articulate Productions, On Demand Salon for hair styling, and I hosted a BOSS ring bar! As many of you know I just launched my accessories line, and while it’s mostly camera/bag straps, I have line of BOSS rings that are pretty dope, especially when they are layered. It was a pleasure having all my girls there for my first BOSS ring bar, where they could pick up my rings in their size. Since our theme was fashion week, or rather pre-fashion week styling, guests checked out the showroom for their fashion week outfits and we hooked them up an incredible gift bag thanks to our friends at Shapehouse, EOS and STARSKIN. LA born, Shapehouse just opened in NYC in two locations (UES and Flat Iron), they offer 55 minute sweat sessions where you lay in an infrared blanket while watching Netflix (or any program you’d like) and burn 600-1500 calories. It’s amazing, and my ultimate lazy girl workout. You walk out feeling amazing and it’s the easiest way to suck it all in before fashion week! I should note Brittney and I went back to back before our event. We’re obsessed!
Eos lip balms are always a good idea. Especially in the winter in New York, since chapped lips will never be cute. Eos just rolled out their new Crystal balm featuring extra chic packaging, and a crystal clear balm that’s waxless and offer weightless hydration thanks to it’s blend of 5 nourishing natural oils. Available in two flavors Hibiscus Peach and Vanilla Orchid, it’s a winter must have.
Eliza J Pants // Nu New York top // Baublebar earrings and necklace // Stuart Weitzman boots
It’s been a long week wrapping up projects cooped up in my office so on Friday I finally got a blowout and starting playing with some of my black friday purchases — how good are these Eliza J pants? I round up my favorite sparkle tops below but quick side bar I have been in hair hell lately. Overly processing my hair finally caught up with me during my last session and the stylist left in my toner too long (and then tried to fix it by literally murdering my strands).
