As a closet 34D to 34DD I’ve turned over a new leaf of going for fitted zipper in the back crop tops that double as a bra. I had a few made while in Vietnam from Yaly Couture and it’s been a game changer. I also discovered body tape after my friend Makeda from Glamazon Diaries raved about them. And as someone always on the hunt for tapes and hacks for busty women, I gave it a go with this look for an extra lift.
Being recently engaged, I want to try any type of shapewear, corsets, body tapes and beyond before my wedding day. So many wedding dresses have a low back that I want to start experimenting now with what can lift me and work with my future gown.
Have any good shapewear suggestions for me? Drop me a comment or message me on Instagram @prettyconnected.
Introducing Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel! Our new children’s book which hit #1 new release on Amazon!
A portion of the proceeds from every sale ($1 USD) will be donated to support animal welfare and rescue organizations.
Based on the true story of our founder, Lara Eurdolian King and her husband, James who traveled to Palm Springs on vacation, where they unexpectedly meet Charlie; a senior Pomeranian dog living in the lobby of their hotel up for adoption.
Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel is a timeless “tail” of love, friendship, and dog adoption. With stunning illustrations and a message showing that a family is a family, no matter what it looks like, this book is sure to capture the heart of every young reader—and even adults too!
Charlie was dog #42 to be rescued through the hotels pet adoption program, where they partner with a local animal shelter and let one dog live in the lobby, and when it gets rescued a new dog moves in. The property has helped hundreds of dogs get rescued.
The children’s book is about Charlie, the tour guide at the ‘Pom Springs Hotel’ who helps show families around the property, all the while looking to be adopted and find his forever family. During his tours he introduces the hotel guests to his animal friends that all have unique blended families. The turtles live with the bunnies, the swans live with the ducks and their ducklings… illustrating through animals, Charlie and his friends teach the kids that there are all different types of families.
All of the animals are based on real characters that lived or regularly visited the property.
Our dream is to inspire more hotels and doorman buildings to open their lobbies and join paws with local shelters to foster animals and get more involved with events to help them find their forever home.
Charlie at the Pom Springs Hotel, $18.99 is available on prettyconnected.com/shop, Amazon, Target, Barnes & Nobles and select book stores across the country!

Eliza J Pants // Nu New York top // Baublebar earrings and necklace // Stuart Weitzman boots
It’s been a long week wrapping up projects cooped up in my office so on Friday I finally got a blowout and starting playing with some of my black friday purchases — how good are these Eliza J pants? I round up my favorite sparkle tops below but quick side bar I have been in hair hell lately. Overly processing my hair finally caught up with me during my last session and the stylist left in my toner too long (and then tried to fix it by literally murdering my strands).
Cheers to Veuve Clicquot and an even more so epic Polo Classic in celebration of their 10 year anniversary. Hosted at Liberty State Park the usual star-studded celebration stepped up what is already my most favorite and glamorous drinking event of the year. And the perfect excuse to get dressed up and do some quality day drinking with friends. I went a little more boho this year wearing the Sam Edelman Tilly Suede sandal with an Eliza J Maxi Dress which I took the belt off the waist and used it as a head scarf and then put a white crop top over the dress.
Hosted by Neil Patrick Harris with a special musical performance by Alicia Keys, which Rose Garden ticket holders had first access to on the field — we were front row! Which made it especially exciting when she walked out wearing a piece from my good friend Patricia Field’s Art Fashion collection. The ‘She’s the Boss’ Cape is a custom painted piece by Iris Barbee Bonner which is available by inquiry on PatriciaField.com and a limited run is at Bergdorf Goodman in Linda’s Closet. It’s so epic! As was Alicia Keys performance. I felt like I could reach out and touch her. Cheers to Veuve Clicquot as well for donating to Alicia Keys charity Keep a Child Alive, a non-profit organization working to support children and families affected by HIV.
The 10th anniversary celebration also featured two limited edition items available for purchase to commemorate the afternoon fête – the Veuve Clicquot Polo Arrow and the Veuve Clicquot x Fendi Bag Charm, which are apart of the #FendiRoadTrip pop-up shop. I couldn’t resist, I’ve been eyeing those Fendi puffs for some time so I’m excited to add one to my collection. Especially since it’s limited edition and a great reminder of this perfect day.
What can I say, Champagne + Cute Horses + Scenery + Dressing Up = A very excited attendee (aka me). Especially getting to do it with James and so many of our friends. This event falls a week after the anniversary of our first dates so I think of it as our celebration. This is our first Veuve Clicquot Classic and something we look forward to every year!
I am so excited! I woke up to a tweet yesterday that I was featured in “The Best Makeup and Beauty Blogs That You Need to be Following” by Total Beauty as one of six bloggers! I work my a$$ off everyday swatching, trying, going to events looking for the latest and greatest. Meeting so many of the pioneers and founders of makeup brands that to have that recognized, means a lot to me. I started my site 9 years ago and the changes I’ve seen — my site is older than twitter, snapchat and Instagram, if that helps put things in perspective. If you’re a beauty enthusiast, you should vote in Total Beauty’s 8th Annual Readers’ Choice Awards. You get entered to win prizes and most importantly help them pick the winners!
Anyways, it’s Friday, and after a very long, epic, Fashion Week (recap coming soon!), I’m so looking forward to a weekend in sweats and to play with all these new products I just got. This was one of my outfits from Fashion Week, I wore Eliza J almost non-stop. How cute is the jumpsuit with this velvet backpack? I picked up the bag at the Six:02 store, which is my favorite place to shop for workout gear. They just opened their second location in Times Square last week and if you’re going through an athleisure phase, or just like really hot workout clothes — the Ive Park, Fenty Puma… this is the spot. They also have a website, which I’ve been shopping on before they opened their stores (I’m like their super fan).
I can not believe tomorrow is Valentine’s Day!!!! Do you have anything special planned? I feel like the big new buzz word is Galentine, encouraging all the single ladies to get together and do parties which while I’m all about girl power and celebrating your love for your gal pals, there really is no substitute (although besties come close!) for finding a partner in life. I can tell you that as one of the most independent people on the planet, so much of my world would be lost if I couldn’t share it with James and there would be a void without his support. I know the dating scene is hard but with online dating it’s never been more convenient. Although I was shocked to learn that over half a million singles register with EliteSingles every month! Wowza! Are there any relationships left besides mine?
