Happy Easter everyone! I hope you’re all enjoying this beautiful spring day. I’m waiting for my family to arrive tonight from Boston so we can have dinner together. And until then spending the day with James and trying to get some last minute work done before the start of a busy week.
Two Things You Should Do This Weekend: New York Auto Show + Patricia Field Gallery
Yes, I know it’s Easter so go to church, do an egg hunt, spend time with your family… And if that isn’t on the agenda there are two great events happening in NYC.
1. Patricia Field Art / Fashion Gallery exhibition at Howl! Happenings gallery, 6 East 1st Street in NYC from March 25th – 27th
Fashion legend, Patricia Field is hosting the Patricia Field Art / Fashion Gallery exhibition at Howl! Happenings gallery. All of the one-of-a-kind Art Fashion pieces on display at the exhibit are for sale and can be viewed at patriciafield.com.
In case you can’t make the exhibition here’s a video of the fashion art and designers on display: https://vimeo.com/159148639/4f499b53e9
2. New York Auto Show, Javits Centter, NYC from March 25 – April 3
I got a preview of the New York Auto Show for their girls night out event and there are some serious beauties on the blog from every major car brand. Be the first to see the models before they become available.
We mainly toured Toyota, Nissan and Genesis and got the 411 on some new models. For starters I learned that the Toyota Corolla is the #1 best selling car worldwide. For the 50th anniversary of the Corolla they are coming out with a new edition. My family has owned one so we’re part of the statistic. In fact my mom recently gave hers up to get a Toyota Prius which was a hot topic for the brand showing off some new beauties (if you saw my snapchat I was touring the new models).
Nissan refreshed their most popular GT-R series to debut the 2017 supercar edition with performance upgrades and new features (you can learn all about it HERE).
Lastly, Hyundai wowed with their Genesis “New York” Concept, which was the sentiments behind everyone looking at this breathe taking beautiful car. It also happens to be the title of this article where you can read all about this new model.
In honor of the Auto Show, I thought I would share this awesome video Mode created looking back on 100 years of cars!
What’s your favorite car? xoLara
Faux Leather Favorites
{Outfit details: Fauxgerty Red Jacket, Forever 21 top, Kent Stetson custom bag, ASOS Ridley High Waist Skinny Jeans, Karen Walker ‘Number One’ 50mm Sunglass, Rimmel The Only 1 Lipstick, Caption Nail Polish}
During Fashion Week, I hosted an event with Alive Magazine for Fauxgerty, a St. Louis based vegan leather jacket and hoodie line. While I’m not a vegan, I’ve been a vegetarian since I was 8 years old and always want to support animal kindness whenever I can. Plus their stuff is so hot!!! Also on the faux leather front, I’m so excited about my custom Pretty Connected bag by Kent Stenson!!! With the New York City skyline at the bottom and the sketch Henri Bendel artist, Izak Zenou did of me at an event — and of course my social media handle, @prettyconnected at the topic — it’s perfect! They have an amazing assortment of cool bags or you can make your own. With Coachella on my mind I’ve been living on ASOS and Forever 21’s website for inspiration. The top I just picked up from the Forever21 music festival collection and the jeans are from ASOS mega sale they had going on a few weeks ago (they just arrived!).
Red Bags + Blue Pastels
{Outfit: Aerie Drapey Overall, BooHoo white cropped top (similar), Prada round oversized sunglasses, Rockport Total Motion Pointed Toe Pump, Longchamp Roseau bag in Poppy (red)}
Thursday’s 72 degree weather was an absolute dream! My photographer, Cindy and were supposed to play around with with video since I can’t believe I still haven’t fully launched my youtube station! However we were too enamored with the weather so instead we went to the Long Island City waterfront (she had never been) to take in the NYC skyline and lunch outside. I was so excited for the warm weather that I put on my new Aerie Drapey Overall ($34.95!). I was saving them for my trip to LA next month since I did not anticipate I’d be able to wear them in NY anytime soon. I had also just bought these Rockport Total Motion Pointed Toe Pumps when James and I explored Flushing last weekend. I was going to get them in Nude but with Easter around the corner and something about the uniqueness of patent pastel blue heel (I’m sure I have a million pairs of nudes), it seemed like a good fit.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Wrapped up in Lafayette 148
If there’s one thing New York Fashion Week brought on it’s winter. Up until now we’ve been in a fantasy world in New York thinking we’d skirt the whole cold weather thing with the warm fronts of January dipping into February. Last week I kicked off fashion week with Lafayette 148 and the winter pieces I picked out have come in so handy. This Rabbit-Fur Knit Tube Scarf from
Go Red For Women Red Dress Collection 2016 presented by Macy’s
Supporting women’s heart health has become a perennial favorite during New York Fashion week and the perfect way to kick off the season. This year’s American Heart Association’s “Go Red For Women” Dress collection presented by Macy’s was no exception. The event is an opportunity for top designers and celebrities to bring awareness to women’s heart health during the month of February. Some of the celebrities that came out to support was actress Alexa Pena Vega in Gustavo Cadile Candace, actress Cameron Bure in Badgley Mischka, actress Fran Drescher in La Petite Robe di Chiarra Boni, actresses and singers Lennon and Maisy in Stella BCBGeneration, Miss Universe 2012, Olivia Culpo in Marchesa, Today Show Host, Tamron Hall in Marc Bouwer and Ballerina Misty Copeland in David Meister.

2. C. Wonder is back with Brad Goreski as the new Creative Director
Mark your calendar’s for March 3rd when C. Wonder heads over to QVC. The recently acquired brand will be exclusive to QVC and boasts Brad Goreski as their new creative director! We got a sneak preview of the spring collection and it’s on point with all the merchandise we remember from the retailer: vibrant printed bags, enamel cuffs and jewelry, preppy clothes, fun flats and of course those signature bikes we wish we snagged before their stores closed. (Now we can!).
3. We’re Featured in the Caravan Stylist x Save The Garment Center Map Project On Display this Week for Auction!
Claudine DeSola of Caravan Stylist Studio asked New York “creatives,” ranging from bloggers, editors, photographers, artists, designers and TV personalities – including Charlotte Ronson, Shoshanna, Patricia Underwood, Byron Lars, Alice & Trixie, Dana Bronfman, and Me! to inventively decorate New York maps with a tailored selection of their top 5 destinations in NYC. I of course got carried away and picked 13 destinations. Mine folds up into a little square and comes with a notebook so you can take notes of your NYC trip. It’s also great framed flat! During Fashion Week, the original maps from all of the creatives, will be on display and auctioned off at The Gregory Hotel with proceeds going to Save The Garment Center, whose mission is to promote, preserve and save New York City as the fashion capital of the world.
This event is open to the public and the maps will be on display at the Gregory Hotel, 42 West 35th Street, NYC on February 11th-13th and 15th-17th from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. There are so many amazing ones up for grabs!
4. Beauty Crawl with ‘And I Get Dressed’: Sephora vs. Ricky’s
We all need a beauty blogger in our lives someone who listens to what you’re looking for in a product and then tells you what you need. This week in @itsmekellieb’s latest youtube video for And I Get Dressed I’m just that to take her on a tour of Sephora and Ricky’s. Top Sephora beauty picks for black eyeliner goes to NARS Kohliner. Best lip pencils: Tarte Lip Crayons. Best matte liquid lipsticks goes to Stila Stay All Day, Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick and Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick. Ricky’s excels more for hair and then expands in other categories of beauty. Instead of carrying a full line of one brand they usually take the top pick or cult favorite. And offer a great range of high and low prices. It’s also the place to get crazy eyelashes and more eccentric beauty finds which is why they are so known for their Halloween pop-ups. Watch the video for a peek at our day. Have any beauty questions? Tweet me or send me a snapchat: @prettyconnected or leave me a comment.

Xhilaration Flounce Bralette Bikini Top + Xhilaration Strappy Hipster Bikini Bottom
This has been a really exciting year for me (and it just started!). My New Years resolution was to be healthier and I gave up alcohol for all of January and started cycling regularly. I was able to score some Coachella tickets for April so I’ve been focused on getting back into a bikini and taking better care of myself after a decadent (aka dessert and champagne galore) holiday season. The first major milestone was making it through the first month without cheating (one step at a time) and it’s so motivating to see a difference already.
