In honor of Saks Fifth Avenue’s exclusive launch of the latest Mont Blanc collection, ‘Tribute to the Mont Blanc’, Kristen Chenoweth came out to support! The ultra petite, and all around fabulous Glee star, signed autographs (with a very stylish assortment of pens) and posed for pictures during a recent event.
The ‘Tribute to the Mont Blanc’ series is an all-white collection, which includes leather accessories, jewelry, and of course pens! And pays homage to their namesake –the iconic Mont Blanc mountain.
Saks Fifth Avenue will exclusively feature the collection at their NYC flagship store on 50th St and 5th Avenue through May 29th. And with
Model and actress, Rebecca Romijn and celebrity hairstylist Ric Pipino hosted the opening of Wella Professionals first North American flagship salon at Pipino 57 and the launch of Wella’s new product line in New York City.
I’ll be the first to admit that I didn’t know nearly enough about Ric Pipino when I received the invitation (aside from his Pipino salon in Nolita somewhere –which I’ve been meaning to try). The cool factor of the new salon alone and that it carries the Wella Professionals line (not to mention Ric Pipino’s celebrity clientele, runway work and unbeknownst to me he has a signature hair line,Revolution In Cut) has me so excited to go back and try both locations.
The grand opening attracted the likes of Bridget Moynahan, Kelly Rutherford (Gossip Girl), Leigh Lezark (from The Misshapes), Alison Brie (Mad Men), and Fern Mallis (the originator of New York Fashion Week!). And while everyone showed up looking fabulous –Kelly Rutherford is as effortlessly chic in person as she is on Gossip Girl (the photos don’t do her justice). And as much as I’m not into all that Hills/City stuff, I have to say Whitney Port is stunning, and the girl can dress! Meanwhile I got caught in the rain and my hair couldn’t have looked more tragic if I tried.
Fun fact! I caught up with Leigh Lazark at the event who shared that she became a fan of the Wella line when she was traveling in Ukraine and was coloring her own hair. Turns out she’s

Last night, James Vincent, the Director of Education and Artist Relations for The Makeup Show hosted a blogger preview party, and gave us bloggers some fun goodies to try. He also introduced The Makeup Show and it’s importance to makeup artists everywhere (watch the video above). The only item in the gift bag I’ve tried thus far is MAKE UP FOR EVER’s Aqua Liner, which I’m currently having a love affair with. I received a few samples from them last week and all I can say is if you’re a liquid liner fan this is a must-try! It’s so easy to use and waterproof. This liner got me through all the beaches and pools in Acapulco. And now that I’m back in NY, and it’s raining buckets, but my eyeliner is staying put!
Following the blogger preview party, The Makeup Show hosted a makeup art exhibition, “New York Groove, A Gallery of Makeup Art”. MAKE UP FOR EVER’s Creative & Artistic Director Dany Sanz took the cake in the performance and live art she developed. Sanz created three different looks (in human marionette form); a Ballerina, a Rockette and a Chorus Line dancer. Now much more NY can you get? Check out the performance!

Last night, while The Man Repeller was uptown styling the Bloomingdale’s 59th Street, Lexington Avenue windows and showcasing Tibi’s newest collection (I need to go check that out!), I was downtown for the launch of the Misha Nicole store and APL restaurant pre-opening bash.
Misha Nicole took over a large retail space on Bowery and houses a well curated assortment of unique fashion pieces and accessories. To celebrate the opening the store is hosting a series of events (visit their website to part-take), including art exhibitions, trunk shows and charitable initiatives. Last night, they featured the work of painter MD Tokon. I was somewhat distracted over the amazing assortment on the racks to give the art on the walls their proper attention –although their vibrant hues really lit up the room.
I was all about the jewelry and these jackets! I know they don’t scream spring, but I’m in need of good basics.
I then headed over to APL, the new LES restaurant that hasn’t quite opened yet (bar opens tomorrow, full dinner menu begins on Tuesday), despite hosting a few teaser events.
I was curious to check this space out, after reading all that Camille Becerra drama and all this talk of suspended monkey bars. While that was kinda cool (although better left as a surprise, it wasn’t nearly as dramatic as I was imagining), I was all about the walls! They were all different colors and textured and lined with apples.
The bar hosts a long vertical bar and space which then opens into the main dining room –which is where the skylight has the infamous hanging monkey-bars.
Not to get all Snooki on you, but I was all about the fried pickles.

In the words of Seth Meyer’s (mere hours before the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner host would deliver these words in his speech), “its so amazing to be in DC, in all of this history, all these amazing buildings and yet here we are at the Hilton. The red carpet outside was amazing! ‘Who are you wearing’, ‘what does it matter, I’m going into a Hilton'”.
My sentiments almost exactly as I started getting ready for the WHCD pre-dinner reception. As I strapped on my long, black, Nicole Miller gown I needed about ten rounds of confirmation that I wasn’t overdressed. Both the dinner and all of the official pre-receptions were hosted at the Washington Hilton–I missed that on the invite. As you entered the hotel, the entry way is overhauled by photographers and press as you walk through the red carpet. Once you’ve passed the lobby, there are two floors of pre-dinner receptions hosted by various publications.
Amy and I headed to the 2nd floor for the CBS News/The Atlantic/NationalJournal pre-dinner reception. It was hosted in a tent on the terrace and it kind of felt like a wedding reception, except for the part where there are random celebrities walking around. That, and I’m not used to wearing a dress that falls below my knees.
My highlights included meeting Chelsea Handler who is hilarious, and getting silly with Vampire Diaries actors Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev who we’re so fun and seemed to be enjoying the photo-booth feature. And yes, they are very attractive.
After the receptions, guests lucky enough to be invited to the official dinner filed downstairs while the rest of us watched from the lounge. It’s kind of amazing listening to Seth Meyers and Obama’s speeches knowing they are only mere floors below. Strangely enough several celebrities kept leaving the dinner to hit up the Bloomberg party –or some party that went through the lounge. The buzz of course being Sean Penn and Scarlett Johansson who power walked by twice, the first time holding hands, and the second with their arms around each other. I’ll it admit I was a little surprised to see the duo, but more so the amount of chatter in the room over it.
After the dinner, the lobby filled up with guests mingling and getting ready for the after parties. I took the opportunity to change and do a little mingling of my own…
Outfit change, then on to the Washington Life after-party. I mean seriously… this face has after-party written all over it (I lasted less than an hour).

Kicking off my weekend in DC, Amy and I hit “The First Amendment” party with one goal of Amy finally exercising her freedom of speech on Bradley Cooper.
Hosted by The Atlantic and NationalJournal, the event, which included a live performance by Chris Rob was held at the Long View Gallery. Google had a lounge in the back of gallery which was where all the celebrity guests tented out.
Of all the crazy things that could have happened, some man crept behind the plants in the lounge and lunged at Sean Penn. Fortunately he was caught or more so grabbed mid-air by an incredibly large bouncer. I happened to be walking by right at that moment and literally had to duck out of this mans way. It was insane!
We found Bradley Cooper!
Guests included Jon Hamm, Bradley Cooper, Chace Crawford, Maria Bello, Mira Sorvino Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Zach Galifianakis. For more pictures from the event, visit the Pretty Connected Facebook page HERE
While the world’s been obsessing over Kate’s dress, I’ve been doing a bit of that myself over what to wear to the White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) parties. That’s right, I’ll be live from DC! I’ve been in LA all week and I’m flying direct to DC today, so I had some advance planning to do when leaving NY.
I think the winning dress is this lovely Nicole Miller number…
Who’s got Royal Fever? Just about everyone! My inbox has been flooded with press releases all about Kate –her hats, what dress she should wear, what her hairstyle should be… everything down to if I want do a giveaway on the reproduction of her see-through dress she wore that now available for sale (I dunno, do I?).
My favorite email though came from Jo Malone, who is celebrating the royal union with a specially designed window in their London store on Sloane St. I like that it honors both Kate and Will.
