L’Oreal Paris Becomes Star Worthy as They Celebrate their 100th Birthday

loreal walk of fameL’Oreal Paris received a very special birthday present this past week when the Hollywood Chambers of Commerce presented them with a Friend of the Hollywood Walk of Fame star.  Spokeswomen Eva Longoria Parker, Andie MacDowell, and Kate del Carsillo joined brand president Karen Fondu on Hollywood Boulevard to accept the award.

L’Oreal is giving the Walk of Fame a make over by helping to fund its restoration, which celebrates its 50th anniversary next year.

“Many acclaimed actors have delivered L’Oreal Paris’ iconic phrase, ‘Because You’re Worth It’,” said Karen T. Yesterday, Claudia Schiffer told Italian magazine, Donna Moderna “I am finished with the catwalk and I won’t miss it.” While the 39-year-old German icon will retire from the runway, this is not her exit from modeling; she is after all the face of Alberta Ferretti’s new signature fragrance. “I continue to model and it’s a lot of fun – but no more fashion shows.”

Elizabeth Taylor in the Hospital

Elizabeth Taylor, legendary actress and beauty icon, announced on her twitter yesterday, “Dear Friends, I would like to let you know before it gets in the papers that I am going into the hospital to have a procedure on my heart.  It’s very new and involves repairing my leaky valve using a clip device, without open heart surgery, so that my heart will function better.”

Fashion’s Night Out – NYC

On September 10th, Anna Wintour’s plan to save the fashion industry came to life when NYC gathered for Fashion’s Night Out.  Every retailer from all five boroughs was encouraged to join in the celebration.  Anna Wintour affirmed  her commitment to the boroughs involvement by pledging to kick off the evening at Macy’s in Queens, alongside Michael Kors.  With over 700 retailers participating in the festivities, I had a whole lot of invitations with no idea what to expect or how to pace the night.
