Tonight, Christian Siriano launched his first fragrance, Silhouette Eau de Parfum in NYC’s Meatpacking District. Hosted by Coco Rocha, who is the face of his fragrance campaign, guests enjoyed music by The Misshapes with a wall of the notes in the fragrance proudly displayed across from the Christian Siriano dresses worn by Coco Rocha in the ad campaign.
The countdown is on! We’re just a few days away from New York Fashion Week. Be sure to follow me on twitter and instagram @prettyconnected since it’s going to be crazy! And I’m not sure how quickly I’ll be able to get posts up but I’ll be backstage and at the shows sharing photos in real time.
Here are some of my must haves to get me through the week:
“Live dangerously. Dress flawlessly Inspired by a woman’s undeniable feminine mystique, essie’s fall 2014 delivers shades so chic it is almost criminal.” How’s that for a self manicured description by essie for their new dress to kilt collection? Intriguing, right? But does it live up to the description?
Here’s what’s in the range (left to right from the photo above):
Big news my loves! I’m in the September issue of Cosmopolitan for the “New Americans” collection for COVERGIRL!
This was a huge opportunity for me and I’m so honored Cosmo and COVERGIRL asked me to represent the ‘New Americans Collection’. My mentality on what being American means has changed so much since my teenage years. I remember in high school and being so envious of every blonde, preppy girl and I thought the cliché Abercrombie models were what depicted American style. A decade later that’s the furthest thought from my mind.
Hi my loves! For all of you regulars to the site, you know I haven’t been on my game when it comes to posting. My daily posts morphed into just a few a week, which I need to put an end to! Despite how it may seem, I have been doing everything but taking a break. In actuality, the blog has never been busier! I’ve been traveling so much and doing so many collaborations that by the time I finish the long hours my brain is too tried to write (I know, terrible excuse!). But you can always follow me at @prettyconnected on instagram for all of my latest adventures and event coverage and beauty discoveries. I’ve been back for a week now in NYC but I wanted to recap my 10 day trip to LA, since it was such an amazing experience. And I’ve been considering moving there for some time now!
On set with Glam.com and Carefree
I came out to LA for a shoot with Glam.com, sponsored by Carefree. We shot 3 videos: How to pack to pack for a weekend trip, How to get ready in 5 minutes in the morning, and How to organize your lingerie draw, and it was so fun! All of the tips in the videos are mine so I’ll be sharing those over the next few months as they launch. The shoot took play in Pasadena, which is a beautiful suburb of LA. In all of my 10+ times to Los Angeles, I’d never been to Pasadena (and it’s only about 15 minutes for Downtown).
With the 66th Emmy Awards just days away, top celebrity stylist, Micaela Erlanger, is sharing her Emmys red carpet style predictions. Micaela styles many of Hollywood’s A-list, including Lupita Nyong’o, Olivia Munn and Michelle Dockery, and will be styling three leading ladies for this year’s Emmy Awards.
For Micaela, (and hopefully all of you!) great style starts with beautiful skin, and she predicts many leading ladies will be showing it off this year! So, she is working with Dove and partnering with E! to premiere the #OneShowerChallenge at the Emmys pre-show, “Live From the Red Carpet” to show how all women can get softer, smoother and red carpet ready skin after just one shower with new Dove Body Wash and invite millions of women around the country to try it for themselves.
On Thursday I stopped by Saks Fifth Avenue Flagship store in NYC for the launch of their Fragrance Library. While Saks beauty floor remains on the first floor, they have curated a collection housed the fragrance library on the Contemporary 5th floor to match that audience.
Hey everyone, join me on Thursday from 1:30-2pm EST for my tweetup with Avon. We’ll be talking about dark circles and giving away tons of prizes!
Did you know women’s #1 eye concern are dark circles? So lets open the conversation and get your questions answered on how to combat them. We’re also available to answer any skincare questions you have.
Make sure to follow @prettyconnected and @AvonInsider and use the hashtag #ANEWYOU during our chat to automatically be entered to win (prize details below).
ILuminage Skin Rejuvenating Pillowcase ($60) – I’ve always heard silk sheets are better for your skin since they are less abrasive then cotton and after getting this pillowcase I don’t think I can ever go back. And it takes anti-aging while you sleep to a whole new level. Embedded with Copper Oxide, it acts like a night moisturizer on your skin, releasing copper ions into the skin’s surface which get released into skin to support it’s natural self-renewal mechanism and help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Plus since it’s a pillowcase it’s easily portable for anywhere you travel.
Nest Fragrances has been on a role with new, awesome scents, that I can’t get enough of! Starting with the their Lemongrass & Ginger Luxury Home Fragrance Collection, of which I’ve tried the Liquid Soap, Reed Diffuser and Classic Candle. I’m not usually a big ginger fan (I’m pretty neutral towards it) but the combination with the Lemongrass and eucalyptus, thyme and sage makes it so fresh (even with the herbal infusion it’s not hippy dippy at all), it completely clean and a totally luxe scent.
