Hi ladies! On Tuesday morning I hang out with my loves at Women’s Health Magazine to celebrate their beauty award winners. Every year, Women’s Health hosts a #WHSocialMoments beauty awards breakfast and social media panel.
This year panelists included Radhika Prakash, Brand Strategies for Pinterest; Lucia Moses, Media Editor for Digiday; Valentine Uhovski, Fashion Evangelist for Tumblr; Lisa Chudnofsky, Women’s Health Site Director and Bobbi Brown, makeup artist, founder of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics & Editor-in-Chief of Yahoo Beauty with Women’s Health Editor-in-Chief, Amy Keller Laird as the moderator.
An impressive panel with a lot of the usual good advice; quality over quantity… be authentic. Consider your audience and the feedback in comments. Have a strategy and diversify your platforms.
As someone who thinks partnerships are the future of everything, Lisa Chudnofsky’s comment really resonated. “There’s really strength in numbers with the internet. We view everyone as a potential partner…. Be open to a lot of new things, and at the same time try to be discerning. Internet teams are lean so we need to put our efforts where it’s going to count.”
As for the Women’s Health winners of this years beauty awards you can find them all HERE. What I enjoy about this particular beauty award picks is the format. They do their ‘best of’ based on key social moments— the best beauty products at work, after hours, at the gym, on vacation and for every social moment. I’ve tried almost half of the products featured (crazy, right!?), and only one of them didn’t impress me, the rest I’ll follow up with a review post and let you know my thoughts! In addition to the site, all of the winners can be found in the June issue of Women’s Health with Gwyneth Paltrow on the cover.
Check them out and tweet me what you think @prettyconnected.
