Charlotte Tilbury’s latest collection sent us back in time to the golden age of old Hollywood, as we joined the oh-so-fabulous makeup guru herself down in Soho to learn all about her exciting new launch. Just as exciting as the product themselves, the venue was seriously decked out, red carpet included! Guests were served platters of her latest products to swatch and play with, which did not disappoint.
Inspired by old Hollywood film stars and their timeless beauty, (Elizabeth Taylor, Katharine Hepburn, Lauren Bacall, etc;), Charlotte claimed her newest collection has “bottled Hollywood DNA magic.” Who can say no to that?! The launch includes ten vibrant liquid matte lipsticks as well as contour and highlight wands, complete with a 2-in-1 brush.
Hollywood Liquid Lips, $34
Achieve the perfect Hollywood pout with these creamy matte contouring lipsticks. They glide like a gloss but set as a soft-matte, offering full coverage as well as a hosier-inspired texture, for the illusion of baby soft lips. These lipsticks are seriously smooth, and I love how lightweight the felt on my lips and also the shape of the wand, which made it really easy to apply! I do recommend doing a lip scrub or moisturizing before application because the texture will not settle nicely on dry or chapped lips. These lippies are available in ten different shades, ranging from warm nudes to rosy pinks and berry reds. The shade we got is called “Dolly Bird”, swatched below. If you’re a fan of over-lining your lips, definitely give these a shot!
Hollywood Contour Wand, $38
Charlotte has been creating contours on her celebrity clients since the 90’s through clever lighting and some shading tricks, so she knows all about the perfect contour. Her Hollywood contour wand is like Facetune in a tube, it literally gives your face shadows and symmetry in all the right places. The formula is lightweight and almost like a gel, so you don’t have to worry about cakiness. The cushion applicator makes contouring easy and fast, perfect for all the ladies on-the-go. I will say, if you don’t have a lot of experience with contouring it might take you a few tries to get a flawless finish. It doesn’t require too much blending, but you definitely want to make sure you apply the product in the right places in the right increments. I will say that over time the application gets a bit more difficult, the brush does get clogged and I did feel like I burned through it in no time. The Hollywood contour wand is available in shades light-medium and medium-dark. Swatched above is medium-dark.
Hollywood Complexion Brush, $40
To complement the contour wand, this lightweight 2-in-1 complexion brush feels great on skin and works effortlessly to blend product. I like the unique shape of it, making it ideal for contouring and reaching smaller areas, such as the sides of the nose and the edges of the face! I’m a huge fan of her brushes and this is a great addition.
