This summer has been flying by! How is it almost Labor Day? It’s almost time to say goodbye to summer and begin the transition into fall. For me that means soaking up the last days of natural, fresh skin makeup with pretty pink lips and soft eyes before breaking out the dark reds, wines and jewel tones I look forward to welcoming back for fall.

For me, Labor Day is all about being outside, either on a rooftop and gathering for a BBQ or going out on my friend Craig’s boat to be on the water. I have been experimenting the past few weeks with different makeup options and have partnered with Target to create two looks perfect for Labor Day.

The first is an easy no-nonsense day look that can take whatever hot temperatures come at you! It’s all about glowing, luminous skin with a pink lip accent. I start and end with my favorite Pixi by Petra products, their Glow Mist which hydrates the skin. This is also the last product I use to set the look and help accentuate that luminous finish. I follow up with the Skin Tint that’s like a gel tinted moisturizer or lightweight foundation (although is much less heavy) and has more of a cooling effect. It helps even out skin tone and delivers that natural, flawless skin.

For the lips, I used Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm in shade Baby Bare. These lip-staining balms are the best! They are super hydrating and great for conditioning your lips during the day and the shades work with the pH levels of your lips to self adjust to your perfect shade.

For the eyes I kept it simple and used the Pixi Fairy Dust in shade Gold Dust under the brow for a little highlight and some added sparkle. It has beautiful shimmer that isn’t too glittery and gives more of a nice highlight (I also use it above my cheekbone for an added glow). For something warmer, you can also use the first shade from the Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral Palette (which I use in my second makeup look). I then finished off the look with a thin line of black eyeliner in my waterline using their Endless Silky Eye Pencil.

I kept the lips pretty and feminine since I’m hoping for an Indian summer and not quite ready for darker shades.

target_pixi_1I prepped the skin with the Glow Mist and Skin Tint as I did in the first look (these are a great summer staple for day makeup). And added the Sheer Cheek Gel in shade Rosy. It goes on flawlessly and offers a very subtle rosy glow.

For the lips I used the Tinted Brilliance Balm in Unique Pink (I love these lip balms!). And for the eyes I was all about the Pixi Crayon Combo in Super Smoky and Mesmerizing Mineral Palette in Plum Quartz. I used the darker “Line” side of the Crayon Combo in my waterline, followed by the “Define” side against the upper lash line. I then did almost a half circle by extending the line halfway into the crease of my eyelid. I then fanned out the first three shades of the Mesmerizing Mineral Palette starting with the lightest color to gradate from my inner eye out to the opposite end of my eyelid. I then went back into the crease of the eyelid to blend out the pencil using the last two shades of the palette to create some depth and change the tone to a more plum-navy and the finish to be more powdery and smooth.
