Rodial has been a skincare brand that’s been on my radar for some time. It launching in the UK some 15years ago and made it’s way to the states last November. Since then their Dragon’s Blood Sculpting Gel has become an instant favorite of mine. If you’re looking for a skin plumper, definitely check it out! Although I’m getting distracted from their big news (which you may have seen on my instagram a few weeks back). Rodial is introducing a Sculpting Makeup collection launching this month.
The line features a tightly edited collection of makeup products designed to sculpt and define the face. Mainly highlight and enhance your natural beauty in a Becca Cosmetics kind of way.
Last month, I joined Rodial President and Founder, Maria Hatzistefanis, for a fun demonstration of the products and to play around with the new collection. Designed to be lightweight and buildable formulations suitable for all skin tones the collection consists of (noting the descriptions, followed by my thoughts in red):
Rodial Eye Sculpt, $38 (swatched right) – A lightweight, whipped cream that works to sculpt eye lids and surrounding area. Can be applied for a natural day look or built up for a sculpted, smokey eye night look. – Completely agree with the description! It’s a beautiful, creamy formula that blends beautifully and goes on almost wet so it’s very malleable!
Rodial Instaglam Glow, $32 (swatched left) – A luminescent golden glow which works to highlight cheek bones and illuminate the facial contours. The formula is similar to a liquid gold, reflecting light particles and adding luminosity to the skin.
Both of these products is amazing and offers a beautiful, intense (without being too much) of a cheek highlight but dries super fast. So apply and spread with Highlight Brush to your desired area (I like it on the top part of my cheekbone) quickly.
Rodial Instaglam Compact Deluxe Contouring Powder, $57 – A soft high-pigment powder that works to sculpt and define the facial contours. – Love this as well, it’s easy to work with and less intense then the Instaglam Glow but still buildable and very pretty.
Rodial Glamstick, $28 – Enriched with Vitamin E and Cocoa Butter, these coconut scented lipstick-balm hybrids are your handbag essential for beautifully colored and kissable lips. – Another favorite! The formulas are super creamy and are a complete hybrid between a lipstick and balm in that balms don’t usually pack too much pigment and this one does a does more then you’d expect in hydrating, creamy balm formula.
Rodial Instaglam Skin Tint, $45 – A lightweight tinted moisturizer designed to provide medium coverage and maximum hydration for a flawless and younger-looking complexion. Available in four shades; Capri, Hamptons, St Bart’s and Rio. – While the formula felt nice, I didn’t get much coverage with this product or feel it was a knock out from the collection.
Rodial Hyaluronic Cheek Sculpt, $28 – This gel-like formula comes in one universal coral shade and works to give the cheeks a tinted natural gloss, with a sculpted dewy hold. – Exactly as described, although I only played with it briefly at the event so not sure on the wear time (the other products I brought home and had more time with).
Additionally I tested two of their brushes The Highlight Brush which is an instant favorite (I use it for everything) and The Foundation Brush which was just okay. It has a full circular brush head but there’s others on the market I’ve liked more. Rodial has an additional four brushes they are also launching: Powder Brush, Sculpting Brush, Eye Smudge Brush and Eye Sculpt Brush to keep an eye out for. There are more products in the line, these are just the ones I’ve tried so far. xoLara
