The nail polish world is a crazy one! We have the dominating big brands like Essie, OPI and Sally Hansen and then all the big makeup brands that launched theirs from Revlon to Maybelline. That now were seeing this rise in ‘indie’ brands which is a very tough field to play in against all of these big name brands. And yet even with all of the fierce competition, one beauty veteran, Nonie Creme makes it look easy.
The former founding creative director of Butter London has launched a new nail polish line called Nonie Creme Colour Prevails as well as color line filled with lip, eyes and face products. While she debuted the collection last fashion week, and has become a serious player in the nail category since their launch in March. With a signature butterfly wing as the wand, it’s easy to pick out her collection at any Walgreens. Incidentally it’s not just for decoration but actually makes it easier to apply nail polish yourself. In my experience most people launch with a limited collection, but not Nonie. With over 30 colors in the range from nudes, pastels, brights to sparkles, there’s something for everyone.
In the above I’m swatching two shades, Clacker (light grey) and Cry Baby (pastel blue). Apply at least two coats and don’t forget a base and top coat for long-wear.
