Last month, I channeled my inner Blaire Wardorf and headed to Bergdorf Goodman for a lovely breakfast and sneak peek at some of the great beauty launches coming this fall! So many of the brands featured have been on my radar such as Bakel, Lancer and Illuminage but prior to this event I haven’t had a solid chance to speak to the brand representatives to get the 411. Many of the products featured below, some of which are Bergdorf exclusives are available now. Otherw, you’re going to just have to wait until the fall!
BAKEL – Bakel launched at Bergdorf’s in January. They are a Biotech line from Italy that has been in Europe for the past 9 years. They use 100% active ingredients and use no preservatives, silicone, fragrance, parabens. Derived from botanicals it’s an all vegan, organic certified line that uses no emulsifiers.
Their Deep Hydration Serum which contains Hyaluronic Acid (which is great for everything from improving acne scars to reducing the appearance of wrinkles) offers deep hydration and can be used as a primer, and helps plumps skin. The have also launched their THIO-C Revitalizing Serum which is a essentially a shot of pure Vitamin C. A lot of brands use synthetic Vitamin C, which has nothing on the real stuff. It helps with brightening and uneven skin tone caused by sun damage and can be used all over the face including eyelids. I tried this out and found it very fresh without leaving a residue but while I think the packaging is creative, it’s a little touch to manage. You have to be so careful when mixing the powder and liquid together not to spill and at $195 for a pack of 10 viles, every particle misplaced is like dropping dollar bills on the floor. Even so, I went through a vile in 3 days and saw results by day 2. My skin was so bright and luminous you would have thought I had a tinted moisturizer or BB on. (Both products along with their full collection is available now at Bergdorfs).
Lancer – I was first introduced to Lancer by Denise Hooper, who is the makeup artist for Scandal. She raved about their skincare products and got me itching to try them. Dr. Lancer is a celebrity dermatologist out of Beverly Hills that’s known for his 3 step Method face skincare products which are designed to make your skin act and therefore look younger by boosting your skin’s natural regenerative cycle. Step 1: Polish your skin with The Method Polish Exfoliator, Step 2: The Method Cleanse Cleanser, and Step 3: hydrate with The Method Nourish Moisturizer.
After the successful launch of his face products he’s gone to expand ‘The Method’ collection to launch a body line. Much like the face line, the collectin boosts the same anti-aging benefits as well as improvement with scaring and hyper pigmentation. Polish skin, cleanse and then nourish! All I can say is it’s good enough for Beyonce…
Laura Mercier – Exclusive to Bergdorf’s this for fall Laura Mercier is launching a 4-piece set, which includes a palette, mascara. They have also launched their Caviar Stick Eye Color, which are like an adult crayons. Great for creating a smokey eye the collection currently consists of 12 shades that are available now, with 6 more launching in fall. Laura Mercier additionally had on display a new Foundation Primer with SPF 30 that’s a lightweight, gel-creme texture that’s oil free and now available!
Hermes stole the show for me. From their intoxicating new scents to their luxe packaging, there’s just something about any product that comes out of that orange box that makes a girls heart skip a few beats. They have added four new colors to their collection (Bamboo, Confetti Pink, White and Electric Blue) which are available in their classic 10 ml/0.34 fl oz and 75 ml/2.5 fl oz sizes. The collection of refillable leather bound atomizer edged with natural-colored saddle stitched thread houses the collection of new Hermes Nomad Natural Sprays which will be available in-store only at Bergdorfs in the fall.
ROJA PARFUMS Goodman’s is an exclusive fragrance to Bergdorf’s created by master perfumer Roja Dove to capture the scent of Goodman’s. The scent launches this summer and has top notes of Mandarin and Bergamot, heart notes of Rose, Jasmine, Jasmine Sambac, Ylang Ylang, Neroli and May Blossom with base notes of Cinnamon Leaves, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Coriander, Cedarwood, Patchouli, Vetiver and Deep base notes of Frankincense, Castoreum and Civet.
Ramon Monegal has a new spring scent that launched in March that is exclusive to Bergdorf’s called Very Private Eau de Parfum. Private is a sophisticated and elegant fragrance that’s inspired by Bergdorf Goodman and Central Park in the springtime. The scent opens with sparkling citrus, and fruity notes, coupled with a tender floral bouquet of tea rose, violet, lilac and orange blossom, and dries down to a unique blend of oak moss, licorice, vanilla and musk.
Maison Francis Kurkdjian – infamous Parisian Perfumer Francis Kurkjian, is in my opinion the top perfumer in the world. And that’s not just my Armenian pride making that statement, this man is responsible for practically every major fragrance for every major brand from Davidoff, Dior, Guerlain, Escada, Giorgio Armani, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Acqua di Parma, Carven, Christian Lacrois, Dior, Elie Saab (I could go on all day but I’ll let you visit his Wiki page for the whole list instead). In 2009 he introduced his own signature line (it’s amazing – APOM Pour Femme is a staple in my apt.) and during the event I sampled his ‘Aqua Universalis Forte‘ scent which is sophisticated and feminine; the floral-citrus scent is like champagne for the skin! In the fall the fragrance house will be launching a new scent, ‘754’ which I can not wait to try!
He also recently launched the Globe Trotter his and hers travel case (pictured above) that is available in Zinc ($95) and Gold ($105).
Illuminage – I am fascinated by this brand! I had the pleasure of working with founder of the link Marie-Pierre Stark-Flora back in the day and if this line of devices is half as impressive as the trial results reported, we’re in for a real game changer! The brand launched with it’s Skin Rejuvinating Pollowcase with Copper Oxide at the end of last year, which fights wrinkles while you sleep! I have it and am obsessed. While it feels like any silk-like pillowcase (so much less abrasive then cotton!) the satin-soft yet durable fabric contains safe, non-irritating threads are embedded with copper oxide fibers which helm minimize the visible signs of aging including fine lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet. The more you sleep on it the better the results!
The brand is now rolling out a skincare line as well as two devices, the illuminageTOUCH which is the next generation at-home professional hair removal system. And Iluminage Skin Smoothing Laser, which is the first at-home laser device that is FDA-Cleared to reduce fine lines and wrinkles around the eye and mouth! I can not wait to get my hands on these devices!
Patchology Energizing Eye Patches – Meant to be a recharging station for your eyes, I was a little underwhelmed by this product. I’m all about the ender eye treatments but this was a lot of steps (okay, only 3) but the patches didn’t adhere as well as I would have liked and I didn’t find the results to be better then then it’s competitors (Skyn Iceland and Juicy Beauty are probably my top rankers at the moment) and at $75 for 12 Eye Treatments it’s at a higher price point.
Atelier Cologne sampled it’s Blanche Immortelle Cologne Absolue during the event which features sandlewood, saffron and papyrus as it’s key notes, bergamot, limette and saffron as the top notes and sandalwood, gaiac wood and white musk as its heart notes with base notes of papyrus, cedar wood and vanilla.
In the fall they will be launching a 5th anniversary fragrance, Rendezvous-Vous that will be exclusive to Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus.
Dior will be launching their Les Elixirs Precieux collection exclusively at Bergdorf’s this fall. The collection of four elixirs (Oud, Amber, Rose and Musk) that can be layered to make your own custom signature scent or be paired with other fragrances. Look for them in September! 
Alterna Haircare – Two of Alterna’s most beloved collections, Caviar and The Science of TEN have some new products! First off if you’ve never tried the Caviar CC Cream, it’s awesome! It launched last year and is a staple in my hair routine. The brand has a new Caviar Anti-Aging Perfect Texture Finishing Spray with is a hybrid between dry shampoo and finishing spray. It’s not dirty or sticky but adds touchable texture to hair. I have yet to try it but doesn’t that sound awesome for summer?
Meanwhile Alterna’s The Science of Ten is launching at Bergdorf’s with the Perfect Blend Shampoo, the Perfect Blend Conditioner and the Perfect Blend Masque in July. This collection features ‘the world’s most efficacious natural ingredients’ which is the perfect blent of ten extracts (Arabian Frankincense, African Cacao Extract, Color Hold Complex, Caviar Age-Control, Bulgarian Primrose, Moroccan Quillaja, White Truffle Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Hyaluronic Acid and Arnica Flower) and is set to effectively replenish and hydrate all hair types for optimal results; leaving hair smooth, radiant, manageable and healthy. Sounds good to me!
HAMPTON SUN recently launched at Bergdorfs and prides itself on having an SPF level for every personality. Whether you’re an SPF 4 Oil kid of gal (please don’t be that girl!) or and SPF 70 type, HAMPTON SUN has you covered! And then some. Along with their extensive SPF line, they have an ancillary line of after sun products, airbrush bronzers and a fragrance as part of the collection. Their products smell amazing and their whole schtick is bring glamour back to sun bathing. I for one like the idea of being in a 1950s bathing suit laying out in my gorgeous Hamptons estate, sunbathing… a girl can dream.
Robert Piguet will launch his latest fragrance, Gardenia at Bergdorf’s on September 1st.The famous luxury fragrance house rewrites the white floral floral to add a seductive twist. Fueled by Fleur de Lys and Ylang Ylang, the fragrance opens with the etherial, bold embrace of pure Gardenia heart and matures with Madagascar vanilla, black leather and Cashmeran grasp the floral heart and lay a warm, earthy cradle.
