Dove never ceases to impress and inspire me with their commitment to Real Beauty and standing for women. Oxford Dictionary declared ‘Selfie’ as their international Word of the Year for 2013 and inducted it into the dictionary. It’s power not only comes from it’s popularity as a word, but also the effect it can have.
Yesterday in Park City, Utah, Dove premiered, Selfie, a new documentary short film with Sundance Institute illustrating how beauty has been redefined since the launch of the Campaign for Real Beauty ten years ago. Additionally, Dove released a new study, Dove Beauty Redefined, that reveals that women believe the definition of beauty has evolved to become more inclusive and that social media is playing a larger role in influencing the beauty conversation than traditional media.
