On Thursday, Dove kicked off their 4th Annual Dove Self-Esteem Weekend event in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of America, Girls Inc. and Girl Scouts at the Empire State Building with Katie Couric. Celebrating and reminding girls of their inner strength and beauty, Dove focused on making girls unstoppable by hosting a self-esteem workshop in tandem with the brand’s first-ever lighting ceremony. And where better to host a lighting ceremony, then only the world’s most famous office building… the Empire State Building!
Alongside Katie Couric, a girl from each organization, Boys & Girls Club of America, Girls Inc. and Girl Scouts joined the acclaimed journalist in ‘flipping the switch’ and lighting the Empire State Building. The building shined blue, red and green in honor of these national leading girls’ organizations, who will be coming together publicly for the first time to celebrate “Girls Unstoppable” and encourage moms and mentors to have a conversation with their daughters about beauty, confidence and self-esteem. Dove believes that everyone can make a difference in a young girl’s life, but it is important that women first see the beauty in themselves so that they can inspired the next generation.
Dove will continue it’s efforts to make girls unstoppable, hosting it’s fourth annual Self-Esteem Weekend (October 4-6) acrsoo the country with a series of self-esteem worships, hosted by Dove and the brand’s national partner organizations.
