NYFW: Backstage at Jason Wu Spring 2014 Show with Lancome

Backstage at Jason Wu with Lancome

When you get invited to see the behind the scenes for a mega designer such as Jason Wu, you view every detail and you view it thoroughly. The designer himself said this collection was “a dialogue between construction and ease” and you certainly felt that before even seeing the garments. The hair by lead stylist Odile Gilbert was sleekly constructed into pristine ponytails with help from Kerastase’s Boucles D’Art mousse.

As for the makeup, the ease was in the face. Lancôme was channeling enchanting femininity with the sweep of a brush. Since Wu’s collaborative collection with Lancôme was also making its debut during New York Fashion Week, it was no surprise the cosmetic brand was pulling out all the stops to deliver rich, come-hither stares. Eyelids were layered in romantic hues and sealed with a sparkle. The lips were bare and the skin, it was glowing on a natural high. With hair that we could actually do ourselves and a very wearable makeup regimen we can see many women not only emulating this beauty look for spring ’14; we see them getting a head start on it right now.
