Happy Monday everyone! What a night with the VMA’s being in NYC last night. For this weeks #StyleMonday it seemed only appropriate to post last night/this AM’s outfit live from the red carpet of In Touch Weekly’s Icons and Idols VMA after party. I had the privilege of partnering with COVERGIRL as their red carpet corespondent for the event — celebrity interview highlights coming up soon, but first, the outfit, the hair, and of course the makeup (and nails!).
It’s the VMA’s so I was channeling my inner glam rocker (hence the hair), but instead of the conventional black on black, I went with more of a feminine white on white. From the moment I saw this Leila Shams beaded skirt and those Timo Weiland heels, I had no choice but to build my outfit around these two amazing pieces. So paired with a sexy black Chantelle bra and my silk Vince tank that is probably one of the most utilized basics in my wardrobe all that was left was the jewelry. I was at a Bebe preview last week which prompted the earrings and although I rarely do a bold earring with statement necklace, in this case matching it with my R.J. Graziano cuff necklace, it all tied together.
Now lets talk beauty for a moment… I started with a hair cut from Eiji Salon (they also do my color!), followed my appointment at DreamDry for my rockstar faux-hawk fishtail look. I was inspired by this instagram post from @bagsnob and I’m so happy with the adaptation my stylist from DreamDry and I came up with!
Next stop was a custom mani from the infamous Miss Pop Nails using COVERGIRL’s black, white and new Glosstinis (their mini nail polishes, perfect for travel or on the go) in shade in Lemon Drops! Finally a #ManiMonday to brag about!
Once hair, and nails we’re done I made a quick stop to the Life&Style Beauty Lounge for a COVERGIRL makeover followed by some additional touchups done by yours truly for the ultimate flammed out look. Of course to be flammed out, I needed to use COVERGIRL’s new Flammed Out Collection, which includes a Mascara (which is volume packed — for once no fake lashes needed on the red carpet!), Shadow Pots (which are blendable, powder eyeshadow pots), Shadow Pencils (featuring 2-in-1 gel shadow and eyeliner pencils), which all worked and blended beautifully together for a high impact eye. I also added the Ink It! Liners for a bold black liner under my eyes and above the lash line; a nude Lipslicks Smoochies Lip Balm on my lips to keep them hydrated, and finished off the look with COVERGIRL’s Clean Glow Blush & Clean Glow Bronzer to accentuate my cheek bones.
