Ombre nails, bold lips, aristocratic next day hair — needless to say I loved everything about being backstage at CFDA designer, Daniel Vosovic’s Fall 2013 Fashion Preview. (If you missed my post on the collection from earlier this month click HERE). Daniel is a true perfectionist, right down to the messy hair. His messy hair was even perfect!
Hosted at the W Hotel in Union Square I was greeted backstage by the beauty team. New makeup line, MAKE created the look in collaboration with Vosovic. Led by Kristin Hilton, MAKE’s team of artists created a contemporary look that spoke to Daniel’s inspiration which referenced modern aristocracy – a polished girl with a playful side. A bold, statement lip was the focus of the look which was offset by the regal, porcelain-like skin. I asked Hilton to describe the look in three words to which she described, “rich, rock and roll and chic.”
Rodney Cutler of Cutler Salon led the hair team to create a next day faux bob (imagine our girl went out for a night on the town all done up and came home, only to fall asleep on the couch — this is the hair she wakes up with).
For nails, Vosovic collaborated with Dermelect Cosmeceuticals, on their new line ME, the first peptide-infused anti-aging nail lacquer. Celebrity Nail Tech Elle and manicurist Rose Velez lead the show creating two nail looks: 1) a bold ombre using shades of teal and navy, 2) a mushroom shade, topped with gold striping tape.
