Your Perfect Stay: Alamanda at Palm Cove

palmcove alamanda resortDuring our trip to Australia we went from Brisbane to Cairns, which is like going from the bottom of the Great Barrier Reef, to the top. Besides visiting some of the islands off the city of Cairns to snorkel the reef, we want to explore some of the neighboring towns of the city.  One of our favorite stops was Palm Cove, only 20minutes north out of the city.  Easily one of our North Queensland destinations, we stayed at the Alamanda, where we greeted by the friendly staff and the beautiful grounds of the estate. Situated on the beachfront, its numerous swimming pools and luxurious surroundings didn’t make us feel at home, it made us feel as though we were royalty. (You can read more about Palm Cove and what to do if you visit Cairns on our previous guide post HERE.)

Our room, which we would count closer to an apartment, was spacious with modern decor that was thoughtfully designed with a great eye to detail. We had a 2 level, 3 bedroom flat complete with kitchen, laundry and beautiful balcony – a true home, not a hotel room. We took this opportunity to do a bit of cooking over our two day stay, something that we missed after all the reliance on eating out whilst traveling.

The location served us well, it was right in the middle of everything we wanted to get to; the beach was in front of us and we were on quiet corner of the street with all of the restaurants and boutiques. Truth be told, we didn’t even want to leave because of the comforts it provided. The area is best described as a miraculous bubble of paradise, not too touristy, with great scene of people without being crowded.

While visiting, we took the morning off for a couples massage at their acclaimed spa. The experience took place on the top level room overlooking the beach. With private showers and soaking pool all to ourselves, we can’t recommend this highly enough for those who want to get away from it all and find relaxation and peace. (The sound of the waves make an already tranquil experience that much more euphoric).  They introduced us to T2 tea and Eminence Organics skincare products (they have a makeup line as well), which we went crazy for.

After all of the adventuring around Australia, it was nice to be able to take it easy and relax, the Alamanda was exactly the place to do it. They have great accommodations for honeymooners and vacationers alike.
