Extra, Extra! I had so much fun teaming up with Sunglass Hut and EXTRA to share the must have sunglass style of the season with host, AJ Calloway. We had a blast shooting and lets just say Sunglass Hut makes it very easy to find on trend and basically any sunglass style you could ever way. With so many styles and brands including Prada, Miu Miu, Ray-Ban, Persol, Dolce & Gabbana and so many more, it’s the ultimate destination for sunglasses. Plus they have a million locations so they’re easy to find!
Check out the segment above and below are the trends I talk about that you should have on your radar:
It was a family affair at LensCrafters last week when James and I (and Charlie!) went to for a Clarifye eye exam. James is nearly blind and was overdue to get his eyes checked and update his prescription and I haven’t had an eye exam in over a decade. Which is pretty bad since I think you’re supposed to do it every year or so. From what I remember about the process it’s anything but pleasant, droppers in your eye, blurring your vision and tests for what feels like days. I’m so appreciative LensCrafters gave us the extra nudge to come in to try out their new technology making everything easy and digital (no drops required) and so fast. I’ll admit, I assumed my vision was perfect, at least for the big stuff, like everyday life. But I have noticed the fonts on the back of my beauty products have been getting smaller and harder to read. Which begged the million dollar question — was it the smaller font or do I need glasses?
Well let me tell you, I was excited to find out. I actually wanted glasses growing up and remember being disappointment in high school when the doctor said my vision was perfect. I wasn’t remotely attracted to the idea of contacts but I did feel like I was missing out on the fashion of glasses (It wasn’t cool back then to wear fakes since it was considered trying to hard). Fast forward to last week when James and I were blown away by LensCrafters Clarifye digital eye exam. We each looked into some machines that instantly scanned our eyes — they check our vision, producing detailed pictures of our retina and eye health, measuring 5x more optical characteristics then that of a visual exam (it also checked us for glaucoma).
Last month, I had a pair of midnight (ahem, “galaxy blue“), velvet pants ordered for an event my friend Natalie Zfat was hosting at Lafayette 148 at their new store opening in soho. At the time I thought was I really losing it wanting velvet pants? And then somehow in the past two weeks I’ve seen non-stop articles — even from Vogue on how it’s the hot new fall trend. I’m so glad I chose them since literally from the moment I put them on yesterday, I had compliments at every show, sidewalk and restaurant I went to asking where they were from. Usually Lafayette 148 is my go to for great basics, but this season they have some really amazing statement pieces that I’ve been eyeing. The new store is beautiful, and had me eyeing these red patent leather flats (aren’t they gorgeous!?) and Infinity Cuff bracelet that may need to be my next splurge.
This outfit was perfect for the Lafayette 148 store launch party since yesterday was one of those full, morning to night New York Fashion Week days filled where I had no time to go home in between. This outfit took me from day to night (I had a black crop top under my long sleeve top and makeup to intensify the look in the evening). The black suede pumps and velvet pants really tied everything together and I love how the pants look almost navy or black in dark lighting and then in the sun really lighten up. They are also available in black and I’m hoping they’ll make them in their signature cabernet color as well. I would be totally down for some burgundy velvet pants! I’m clearly having a 90s moment. And props to my Henri Bendel Uptown Blocked Satchel bag for being able to hold my life in it. I had two books, my camera, 2 gift bags in addition to my phone charger, wallet, makeup case… the usual necessities in it.

I can’t believe I haven’t blogged since Wednesday! I know it’s only been a few days but since I got back from Boston all I’ve wanted to do is get my apartment in order and stay local. Every week for over two months I’ve been in a different state, and while it’s all been with amazing brands, it’s taken a toll.
On the up side, while I haven’t had as much time to write I have been playing with some new accessories I’m excited about starting with these Sudio Sweden Vasa Earphones. They only recently started selling in the US so I’m honored to be one of the first to get my hands on a set. I’m going through a perpetual rose gold phase (although they come in other colors too!) and love the simplistic and yet elegant design of them. They also have great sound quality, and come with a chic travel case, which I need, since I’m the queen of tangling everything (you don’t want to look into my jewelry box. They also have a wireless version I have my eye on for when I go running! I’ve been using them non-stop for travel since they are less bulky then my headphones and offer a really crisp, studio quality sound. Plus now that I carry Charlie (my rescue pup) around everywhere with me I’m trying to pack as light as possible. They are offering my readers and exclusive discount of 15% off with code: PrettyConnected.
Hi loves! I’m excited to share Modeliste Magazine included my “Lara’s Lust Haves” for Valentine’s Day on their site. You can see the post HERE and why these items below made the cut!
After working with Dressbarn for their suit drive to benefit Dress for Success (I hope some of you we’re able to donate!), the brand approached me for a fun challenge — finding a universally flattering dress despite size and shape. Does a one-dress-looks-good-on-all frock exist?

Usually I find when shopping online the items look better on the site then when they come in the mail. Not the case when it came to this dress. It fits like a glove and cobalt blue is all the rage. It’s an easy dress to take from day to night and style in a variety of ways. It’s also really easy to pack so this dress will for sure be going on my Beirut-Rome trip I have planned next month!
For all of you Dressbarn fans, they we’re nice enough to offer a 20% off coupon for all of you to enjoy, valid through 4/30. Details below:
