Le Meurice (Paris)

Here’s a fun fact (if you like dogs): During hotel renovations from 1905-1907, Le Meurice workers took in a stray greyhound that had been living on-site. Hotel personnel then adopted the dog, and it soon became the mascot and inspiration for the Meurice’s.

Not that they are bragging or anything, but the Gansevoort was voted the nation’s “Pet Friendliest Destination” by the readers of Animal Fair magazine. That’s what they tell me at least….

Premium treats from the Barking Zoo, pet bed, mat with a monogram, small fiji water, food and water bowls, toys, and a collar tag that reads: “I am staying at Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC.”

Pet enhancements: Personalized pet bed, name tag, and puppy purse (don’t attempt with a feline, merci!)

Additional fee of $100 per stay for the first pet and an additional $25 for the second pet per stay

Looking to spot the hottest camera-ready pets? The Muse is an impressively pet-friendly hotel, having hosted everything from snakes and penguins to a pig, all in town for castings and on-screen debuts. Ginger, a teacup Pomeranian, serves as the “Director of Pet Relations.”

Pet sitting, grooming, walking, massage and acupuncture services

Your pet should never have to lift a paw (I don’t)!

Amenities:

Organic treats from Bocce’s Bakery, bedding, food and water bowls

Pet goldfish: Don’t have a mangy dog or fancy feline (or want to torture you cat)? 
The hotel is happy to provide a goldfish at your request at no extra cost, which you can take home with you. Note: Nowhere does it say there is an extra charge if the goldfish meets an untimely death. Whoops?

Not that I care, but there is a dog park complete with fire hydrant water stations, bespoke benches, and garden design by Rebecca Cole.

Walking and a more extensive grooming menu can all be arranged through the concierge for an extra fee

A personalized sign bearing the pet’s name hanging outside the door

Food bowl, nightly turndown with a toy and tasty housemade treats from the pastry kitchen

(Dogs) Furry Friends Menu –Each meal includes one protein selection (hard-boiled eggs, salmon, chopped chicken or burger patty) and two sides (rice, peas, oatmeal, cottage cheese, chopped pineapple or sliced apple), with an option to add an extra dog biscuit for dessert. Guests are also welcome to bring their dogs along to a meal in the outdoor dining areas at Jimmy’s Pub or Oak Grill.

Pet Fee:

Starting at $150 for the first animal and $50 for the second, with a two-pet limit per room

Restrictions:

All pets welcome from felines to parrots and pigs.
