Sephora House of Beauty Sephoria LA Trip

In a world of BeautyCon, Indie Beauty, FoundersMade, Ipsy… does the world need another beauty show? The answer is YES, if Sephora is rolling out the red carpet. Last night I got a preview of the first Sephora House of Beauty SEPHORIA beauty event which takes place this weekend at the Majestic Downtown in LA. Featuring endless stands of brands carried by Sephora gifting samples, and offering one of a kind beauty experiences and endless photo opps. And the talent!!!!!! Jen Atkin, Dr. Dennis Gross, Chrissy Teigen (for BECCA), Charlotte Tilbury, Mario Dedivanovic, aka @makeupbymario (for Laura Mercier), Dr. Murad all offering masterclasses… see full list HERE.

There’s an outdoor space featuring Glamglow, It Cosmetics, Viktor+Rolf and Gucci fragrances and the giant La Mer bottle you can go inside of (it’s insane!), then go inside the Majestic for 3 floors of brand activation and mini shops, and master classes.

They’re expecting 5,000 guests this weekend, watch the video to peek inside!

Welcome to beauty paradise, well done Sephora! Check it out at sephoria.com

GLAMGLOW New PLUMPRAGEOUS Nude Lip Treatment Collection

One of our favorite skincare brands, GLAMGLOW is full on entering the color zone with the launch of 10 kissable “nude” shades of their PLUMPRAGEOUS Lip Treatment ($24) this month, ranging from sultry metallic bronzes to sheer and soft pink nudes. The PLUMPRAGEOUS Nudes come in Matte, Gloss and Metallic and promise to plump, enhance, condition and prime your lips while delivering an instant shot of color. Wear them alone or layer a few shades together for maximum color impact.

8 Face Masks That Made My Year

Confession: I don’t make it out for facials as regularly as I should so I’m big into DIY facials and face masks. I’ll double and even, triple mask at any given time. And to clarify double/triple masking means either you use them all at the time targeting different parts of your face OR what I do, which is use one after the other. The order for me is always, exfoliate, tighten, moisturize. Which you can also do with non-mask beauty products. The idea being when you exfoliate you get rid of all the dead skin cells and then whatever you put on top will absorb and penetrate better into the skin. And any type of exfoliation should be followed up by some type of product to close the pores and moisturize. You don’t have to add more masks but be sure to use an essence or alcohol-free toner, serum and moisturizer (or whatever your product preference is) so that the exposed skin doesn’t take in more dirt now that it’s so exposed from the exfoliation. When it comes to masks, I love ones that brighten, tighten, wake up my skin, fill in the wrinkles, prevent sagging and everything in between. There have been a lot of strong new releases this past years and here are the masks that have been using on repeat:

GlamGlow Volcasmic Matte Glow Moisturizer

Right now, it’s all about the GlamGlow Dreamduo, which I confess I haven’t bought yet but am seeing everywhere. However, come December (or sometime in the next few weeks) there’s a new GlamGlow product to have on your radar. Last night I joined GlamGlow co-founder Glenn Dellimore for a sneak peek of the brands first true moisturizer, Volcasmic.

Volcasmic is a matte glow moisturizer, meaning it absorbs beautifully and hydrates skin but doesn’t have the heavy, shiny effect a lot of moisturizers do. And is probably the first moisturizer in a while I’ve been able to get James to sign on board with — my boyfriend has oily skin and hates being “shiny”. I would say this is the product for anyone with that complaint. It can also double as a primer or you can use a primer over it, which is ideal for any of us that wear foundation and feel like between the tonrt, serum, moisturizer, spf… by the time you get to the makeup level your skin starts to pill, this is a great product to cut a few steps out of.
