Rockport’s on a mission — one that I had to try to believe! Having recently launched their #PoweredbyHeels campaign they are out to prove that you don’t have to sacrifice style for comfort — especially when it comes to our heels!

It’s no secret women feel more confident and empowered in a pair of pumps (not to mention how much skinnier they make our legs look and elongate us to a more statuesque status). But anyone that’s seen my feet post-fashion week know, they are not a full time reality for this girl (and many of you can relate). And they are completely impractical for most of our everyday actions from grocery shopping to walking the dog — and for you with kids, I don’t know how you do it! So for me, heels are for a 2-4 hour window, mainly events or big meetings and then back to flats. I’m far from petite at 5’9″ so anything longer is just asking for it! Until now.

Rockport’s new Total Motion collection is designed in Italy and offers women a stylish shoes with comfort technology and the dependability you would expect from your favorite, most technologically advanced pair of running shoes. Sound’s crazy, right? I thought so too until I put my feet in their Desert Boot — and it was like heaven. The cushioning and warmth is insane! There is no other high heel that compares, I could live in these. I wish all heels would develop this technology since it’s beyond!

Rockport challenged me to do my everyday tasks I don’t generally do, and last night I took them for a test drive grocery shopping and today I took my neighbor’s doggie, Ellie for a walk. We toured LIC like champs, stopping for coffee and spending the AM outside.

This is the company’s fourth salon in NYC (their fifth resides in San Diego, CA). With my strands in dire need of rescuing — I love my ombre but it’s been killing my ends — I took a stroll uptown to meet with Lorean Cairnes, Fox & Jane’s co-founder and creative director for some much needed hair TLC.

My SORELstyle: Joan of Arctic Boots

I cannot tell you how long I’ve wanted a pair of the iconic SOREL Joan of Arctic boots! Especially after last year’s polar vortex – I prefer not to go another winter without them.

With some of you packing up for college and taking all of your essentials through the holiday, this is a great transitional boot from fall to winter. It transforms from a rain boot to full on winter warrior boot with an inner layer that actually snaps in (or out) depending on the weather and how insulated you’d like them to be. With the padding in, it’s super warm and the boot itself is completely waterproof with an outsole of vulcanized rubber that’s bound to the upper portion of the boot, which is comprised of waterproof suede leather; so come rain, sleet or full on snowstorm, they have you covered.

Since I’m all about layering and oversized everything, my SORELstyle is to go casual cool with a big jacket and a pair of skinny jeans (so I have some shape to me). Just add a scarf and I’m ready for whatever extreme temperatures that are coming our way.
