Just in time for spring, the June 2010 issue of Women’s Health Magazine will report the winners of their 4th annual Beauty Awards. Featuring both reader’s and editor’s picks by category (hair, face, body, and makeup), I had the privilege of joining the publication for the announcement of their winners and received an advanced copy of the magazine.

So who won? Here’s a sneak peek at some

James Vincent kicks off the Makeup Show NYC

As Director of Artistry for The Makeup Show, On Makeup Magazine and The Powder Group (not to mention an extensive background of work for some of the most notable cosmetic brands and celebrities), renowned makeup artist, James Vincent hosted a special preview of all the great brands and products being showcased at this years The Makeup Show NYC.

With a very comedic and entertaining delivery, Vincent was nothing short of impressive in both his vast amount of product knowledge, as well as his ability to introduce the audience to a number of new brands (all of which I look forward to learning more about).  I’m so excited for the show!

If you are in the any way shape or form affiliated with this industry, The Makeup Show New York is a must! May 16-17, tickets are available

PROM: Class of 2010 Brought to You by Joonbug and FashionIndie

Joonbug.com and FashionIndie.com took the NYC party scene by storm when throwing a benefit for The Society of Independent Fashion Journalists at Espace this month.  Naming the event PROM: Class of 2010, I had no idea what was in store, but like any good New Yorker, I don’t need much of an excuse to put on a party dress and get ready to expect the unexpected.

What an evening! The space was definitely prom worthy, as we’re the guests who took the dress attire very seriously –I even overheard the girl in the ladies room say she is wearing her dress from senior year. Impressive considering mine should be burned (I still can not believe I ever wore a sea-foam green Jessica McClintok princess dress –by choice). Great 80s and 90s classics had the dance floor packed; there was even a performance by the St. John Cheerleaders!  They really delivered all the perks of prom, with the added bonus of being old enough to enjoy an open bar.  The only thing missing was

The Pink Agenda Gala – Thursday, May 20th

Known for their unique and fabulous events, this year’s benefit will be no exception.  Guests can expect to enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and a marvelous array of silent auction items.  This year’s Gala will also feature actress and comedienne Carolina Rhea performing a scene from Love, Loss, and What I Wore.

After party to immediately follow the event at Los Feliz, in Lower East Side.

Blake Lively at the 2010 MET Gala

When it comes to Blake Lively, I must admit I have total girl-envy. I attribute a lot of it to the first time I saw her at an intimate party she through for Penn Badgly after the premiere of ‘The Stepfather’.  She’s was so lovely, stylish and naturally stunning –I stared, it was impossible not to, she’s so effortlessly flawless.

Last night at the MET Gala, Lively looked gorgeous in her blue mini Marchesa dress and makeup look by Elaine Offers for NARS Cosmetics.

Ramona Singer for HSN

How does a Real Housewife of New York launch a jewelry line? In style.  Last week, Ramona Singer, alongside her daughter Avery launched her new, estate-inspired jewelry collection for HSN at famed uptown salon, Mizu New York.  Guest enjoyed cocktails by Opici Wines while receiving complimentary hair blowouts and a preview of the collection.

Comprised of real diamond and gemstone pieces the assortment of rings, necklaces and bracelets are priced from $300-$500.  My favorite is the Pink Amethyst and Diamond Rose Vermeil Ring (pictured below).

Earth Day with Kiehl’s

For the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, I decided to spend the evening at the Kiehl’s Flagship store to partake in the celebration of their ‘Give Kiehls, Give Back’ campaign.

Photographed by David LaChapelle, the campaign features actress Julianne Moore, musician Pharrell Williams, pro-surfer Malia Jone and artist Jeff Koons; all of whom designed a limit edition label for Kiehl’s Acai Damage-Protecting Toning Mist.  For every one sold, Kiehl’s will donate 100% of the proceeds (up to $200,000) to the RainForest Alliance.

With actress Taryn Manning on the turn table, we celebrated Earth Day and Kiehl’s philanthropic efforts in style; great music, fun drinks and snacks (all acai berry based), with an influential crowd of actors, artists, TV personalities, photographers and press.  Guests included Malia Jones, Tinsly Mortimer, Robert Verdi, Parker Posey, Adrienne Bailon, Shiri Appleby, Richie Rich, Heather Matarazzo, Kelly Benisom, Ally Sheedy, Norman Reedus and KAWS.

The collection is available at Kiehls.com
