W Hotel Kicks off W Gangs of New York with The Virgins, Grandmaster Flash + Chris Keating of Yeasayer
Last night the W Hotels kicked off their artist collaboration with the W Gangs of New York A Battle for Music Supremacy at their Union Square location. This event was the first of what will be a whole summer music series where NYC’s heavyweight record labels will go head to head. Hosted by Michaelangelo L’acqua the evening kicked off with a live performance by The Virgins — which I was expecting a few songs, but it was a full on (and very well done) show. They are really good live! Followed by DJ Sets by Grandmaster Flash & Chris Keating of Yeasayer.
About the W Gangs of New York music series: Inspired by the cult classic New York film The Warriors; W Hotels of New York curates a unique musical soundclash launching from W Union Square. Over the course of eight events, the city’s finest and most credible record labels will battle to highlight why they are the ultimate (musical) Gang of New York. There will be no cover charge to any of the events. Learn more at whotelsnewyork.com/wgangsny

Getting Glossy with GLOSSYBOX
A light drizzle didn’t stop the beauty set from gathering at The Garden at The James New York for a summer beauty soirée with the leading luxury beauty subscription service, GLOSSYBOX. Parties, Places, & Faces: Kiehl’s Kicks off Pride, Mark Ronson Performs for Fendi, Toy Says Goodnight and StyleCaster Turns 5!
Last night NYC was happening! Skincare brand, Kiehl’s Since 1851 kicked off Gay Pride weekend at their flagship store in the East Village. Hosted by Kiehl’s President, Chris Salgardo and Ben Cohen, with music by KISSETTE, the brand made a special donation to the Ben Cohen Standup Foundation. Special guests included Ally Sheedy, Leigh Lezark of The Misshapes, Ana Matronic of the Scissor Sisters. As well as the dynamic duo Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra of Costella Tagliapietra.
Then off to the Meatpacking District to the CATCH Rooftop for Fendi Perfumes & Modern Luxury’s Manhattan Magazine for a live DJ set by Mark Ronson to celebrate the new Fan di FENDI Pour Homme Acqua Fragrance.
The evening concluded with a surprise live performance of Bang Bang Bang accompanied by Amanda Warner of MNDR! The crowd went while as the duo instantly amped up (the already very energetic) crowd into a total dance and cheer-fest. The only thing that could have possibly made the moment better was Q-Tip and the rangers.
The video is too good not to share…
We then crossed the street to Toy, for their re-location party. The restaurant-bar hotspot celebrated it’s final night in the Meatpacking with a sensual burlesque performance — all eyes were on this feathered goddess. As to where Toy will be re-locating to, it’s under wraps… for now!
Meanwhile at the Jade Hotel our friends at StyleCaster celebrated their 5th birthday with performances by The Misshapes and Mick! Congratulations StyleCaster, we love you!
Clinique Celebrates Dramatically Different Lotion+
Rectangular bottle, green writing, yellow moisturizer… it can only be one thing: Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion by Clinque. We all know it, most of us have used it — it’s the essential last step in the Clinique’s 3-Step Skincare System. Now it’s common to have a skincare routine but growing up this was my first introduction to a ‘cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize’ regimen. My story, coupled with the millions of people globally who share a similar experience is what makes this brand and this lotion so iconic.
On Tuesday night, Clinique invited me to Dramatically Different Party. Hosted at 620 Loft and Garden in Rockefeller Center, the party celebrated the launch of a NEW Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+.
Here’s a taste of the evening…
So why after so many decades did Clinique reformulate such a staple product?
PC Hosts Calm Down and Cool Down with Skyn Iceland and Henri Bendel!
As summer heats up it’s important to take a moment for a little R&R and pampering and we did just that. And at my favorite store in NYC no less! On Tuesday night I had the pleasure of hosting an event with skincare brand, Skyn Iceland at the private event space at Henri Bendel’s (where you an now purchase Skyn Iceland products). We transformed the room into a relaxing mecca offering manicures by Spa Nail, cold juice pressed drinks from Liquiteria and the most amazing gluten-free cupcakes (arguably the most amazing cupcakes ever) by Kaked, and of course some bubbly to toast summer. Guests enjoyed an eye cooling bar using Skyn Iceland’s Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels, which instantly de-puff eyes in 10 minutes and are everything you need to look refreshed after a night out or not enough sleep. There were also stress tests on hand, which involved putting a strip under your tongue for 30 seconds and it reads your stress level — on a scale of 20 to 91+ I got a 130 which was a bit of an awakening that maybe I need to slow down a bit!
We also showed off the perfect summer products to help you cool off and cool down (the theme of the event) and have healthy, radient skin. The products included the Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels, Glacial Cleansing Cloths with Biospheric Complex (foaming cleansing wipes perfect for any girl, or man on the go!), Arctic Face Mist, which is the most refreshing spray toning mist and is filled with vitamins. It’s incredibly refreshing and another product I carry around if I’m out all day in the sun. And lastly the ANTIDOTE Cooling Daily Lotion with Biospheric Complex which is a cooling, lightweight moisturizing lotion perfect for red and irritated, oily or acne-prone skin. All of Skyn Iceland’s products are paraben free and great for sensitive skin.
Outfit dets! Dress: Alice + Olivia, Shoe: Schutz Shoes, Necklace: House of Harlow. Eyelashes c/o Velour Lashes. Makeup by Julio Sandino using NARS.
Thank you Skyn Iceland and Henri Bendel for a magical night!
Skyn Iceland is now available at Henri Bendel. Learn more at skyniceland.com
Veuve Cliquot Polo Classic
It was a picture perfect day on Saturday as we celebrated the 6th annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. Hosted by Matthew McConaughey (who was escorted by his lovely wife Camila Alves), 7,000 New Yorkers braved the heat and took the ferry to Liberty Island where the match took place. My group was fortunate enough to enjoy the match in the VIP section where the bubbly was non-stop flowing and the crowd could not have been more handsome. Straight out of a Gatsby fantasy, it’s I look forward to this event every year. DJ Nick Cohen got the crowd riled up, especially at the end of the match when the scene turned into a fill out dance party.

#ThrowbackThursday: Beauty Trip to Poland
As summer nears and the weather gets warmer it’s hard not to fantasize about getting out of town and planning new travel destinations and spending some quality time with the wonderful friends in my life. Unfortunately, My schedule has been so crazy recently, I haven’t had a second to plan anything — I’ve been fantasizing about going somewhere tropical (maybe St. Thomas, Costa Rica, or South America). Although my true desire is to do a month in Europe; spend time in Paris, visit Berlin and make it to Greece and Maldives. (If I keep running with this fantasy, I may never return.)
A lot of this need to explore dates back to last summer, when I was invited an a impromptu press trip to Poland with some of my best blogger/beauty friends, Rachel from Birchbox, Felicia from This, That, Beauty, and Danielle, The Style and Beauty Doctor. This was our first trip together and it could not have been a better time! Nothing but beautful weather, great conversation and endless exploration! We were invited to attend the inaugural Polska Cosmetics conference and Beauty Forum Expo and to learn more about the Polish beauty industry, and what we got was so much more. Shopping trips, dance clubs, museum visits, walking tours from downtown to old town and between.
