It’s hard to believe that 3 years ago, I made my debut as an on-air for National Sunglass Day for Sunglass Hut doing a segment for Extra. Today holds a special day for me.
While our annual shoot was canceled this year due to Covid, we did partner on the cutest #NationalSunglassesDay mailer that I’m so excited my Mask Chains got to be a part of.
The perfect summer kit, it includes the Pretty Connected Mini Chain Mask Necklace Holder with a cute mask, some summer swim picks from Swim USA, First Aid Beauty SPF, a de-fog spray, Bumble and Bumble product, and of course the latest styles from Sunglass Hut.
While our annual segment was canceled this year due to Covid, I’m still celebrating today, and everyday as Sunglasses (along with a mask and my mask chain), are the only constant accessory I’ve been sporting. I wear them more than I wear my engagement ring these days, it’s that level of commitment.
With that I thought I’d share a few fun tips!
- The biggest trend in sunglasses right now are colored shades! I could do a whole blog post on all the amazing styles currently launching (I might have to make that the next TV segment).
- Sunglasses (much like my mask chain) are fashionable but also highly functional. They protect your retina/eyes and the surrounding skin from the sun, offering UV protection but also by preventing you from squinting as much (especially a polarized lens). Regular squinting = wrinkles. So an eye cream + sunglasses are your best type of protection!
- How to defog your glasses! If you’ve noticed wearing a mask fogs up your sunnies, you’re not alone! Here’s some great articles from CNN and Post-Gazette on how to defog.
Happy National Sunglasses Day!
