If there’s one thing you’ve probably gathered about me over the years it’s that I love a robust skincare routine but I’m always on the go. Marrying the two doesn’t always leave me the amount of time I want to get ready in the morning or the amount of time I would like to get ready for bed. As is the case with many of you, and several members of my family, going beyond washing their face and maybe a moisturizer is a struggle, which is why the new Olay Daily Facials Daily Clean 4-in-1 Water Activated Cleansing Cloths is a hit all in one product that could change your life. Or at least the way you view skincare.
Setting a higher standard in facial cleansing, these textured wipes nourish skin and are designed to be a cleanser (removing all dirt, oil and makeup), toner, mask and exfoliating scrub all in one. Unlike standard face wipes, you add water to these which I prefer since a lot of my face wipes that come pre-moistened dry out over time once opened. These come dry so you don’t have that issue.
I’ve been putting the Olay Daily Facial wipes to the test for the past few weeks spanning from my natural ‘no-makeup’ looks (which usually consists of a BB Cream, light highighter and mascara), to my standard full face look, which is foundation, concealer, bronzer, highlighter, liquid eyeliner, eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow and lipstick . For any of you that watch my instastories you may have caught the demo of my assistant blotchy body makeup that lasts for up to 3 days on her arm, which these wipes completely removed. For my demo though, I thought I’d do it on a full face of makeup so I could test the wipes against a range of makeup formulas.
BEFORE (wearing a full face of makeup):
AFTER video with step by step instructions and makeup removal:
So note in my before photo I’m wearing concealer, foundation, bronzer, highlighter, mascara, eyeliner pencil and liquid and lipstick).
Here are the directions to use the cleansing cloths:
- Wet with water
- Rub to lather
- Cleanse (even around the eyes)
- Rinse (for best results, use cloth)
- Throw away (do not flush)
From the video you can see how effective it is on getting all forms of makeup off. The experience is really nice and cooling, I love how it foams up and exfoliates while still feeling gentle. You don’t have to scrub that hard for it to really work through your makeup and take everything off. I was actually surprised when I pat dried my face with a towel (as seen in the video), no leftover makeup transferred. Even when I double cleanse I usually notice some eyeliner of pigments on my towel. Anything like mascara and eyeshadow that you can remove with your eyes shut gets taken off in a breeze.
It offers a more comfortable and better clean then standard makeup remover wipes and more skin benefits. The soap-free lather doesn’t quit as you cleanse and leaves skin so clean and hydrated. No tight pulling or strange film after. It rinses clean and leaves skin so soft. And for any of you no-makeup makeup fans this is a great first step to beautiful skin. And for anyone on the go this takes a lot of steps out if you prefer to just wash your face and then apply moisturizer. I do add other steps but don’t feel it’s as necessary since this is a 4-in-1 formula and I love how it makes my skin feel after. Definitely one of the best innovative products I’ve discovered this year.
