I’m so excited! As some of you may remember, Charlie and I partnered with the Renaissance Hotel in Times Square a few weeks ago for an epic staycation and our campaign video is now done. The video really says it all, but to be in gorgeous, spacious room, at a pet friendly hotel where you have the pulse of the city at your finger tips and then as soon as you close the door it is so quiet and tranquil was magic. And the unexpected lambs and details in the hotel and on the balcony was such a cute touch! (Also scroll to the bottom for your chance to win a 2 night stay and exclusive discounts!).
As you can see from the video we had an absolute blast during our stay. The theme was #UnexpectedNYC and they delivered! Owned by the Marriott, we had a beautiful, newly renovated terrace room on the 4th floor with a balcony that overlooked Times Sq. I mean, look at this view from my balcony! All of Times Sq is behind me!
The only view more exceptional then from my room was the one from the hotels restaurant, R Lounge; which from breakfast to dinner and end of the evening cocktails, was our spot! It’s an amazing place to take guests from out of town since it’s completely unexpected. You go up to the second floor, walk through the lounge area and suddenly it opens into the R Lounge (ask for a window table), which seats you the most perfect, unobstructed view of Times Square — and the ball that they drop every year for New Years. It’s literally my new favorite place to people watch.
We had a balcony terrace room which was so open and peaceful. Words I would definitely not use to describe my NYC apartment! Charlie had so many bed areas and the room and was so comfortable he did not want to leave. Neither did I. Their Concierge aka Navigator (which is also the name of their magazine with awesome travel destinations) was wonderful and gave us great recommendations on everything from where to walk Charlie to where to eat. We were so enamored with the hotel though we didn’t leave the Times Square area the whole weekend. There was also a massive heat wave that weekend and between the AC and comfort of our room we had little reason to. Every time we needed fresh air we just went out on the balcony, or took Charlie for a walk. Late night it was a blast walking around, did you know most of the clothing stores don’t close until 2am?!?! We did a little midnight shopping… because why not?
So many unexpected moments! It just goes to show that 15 years in a city like NYC, and it can all still be seen anew, I can feel like an absolute tourist in my own home.
