Over the weekend I visited Providence for PVDFest, which celebrates the arts in all forms. Live music, dance, parades and visual art lines the streets for the four day festival. Perfectly located in downtown Providence, with a nothing of a walk from the train station (just a few blocks), we stayed at the Renaissance Hotel. As part of our stay they took us on a tour of the historic building turned ultra modern hotel which originated as a Masonic temple in the 1920s (the blueprints still reside on it’s walls).

With a grandiose lobby, extremely friendly and helpful staff the hotel features 9 floors, 264 rooms, 8 suites with 46 different variations of layouts to match your needs.

I stayed in beautiful room number 935 on the top floor with up an unbelievable view of the State House. Featuring the most comfortable king size bed, desk, and television, which I was too busy exploring to watch it was a very welcoming stay. I also loved the sign in the bathroom which read, “Think less, live more.”
