Inspired by the fashion, fads and art movements of the 1950s, nail guru Jin Soon Choi created the JINsoon Spring/Summer 2014 Color Field Collection to capture the era’s youthful, creative spirit with bright, single-toned colors.
The collection features five nail polish shades, all of which were named by famous model friends of Jin Soon: Cherry Berry (ripe berry tone, named by Ashleigh Good), Kookie White (off-white tinted with a hint of gray and blue, named by Catherine McNeil), Cool Blue (classic cerulean blue, named by Mirte Maas), Pop Orange (hot, energetic orange, named by Edie Campbell) and Dolly Pink (retro blush pink, named by Amanda Murphy), with two additional nail polish ‘toppings’, Polka White and Polka Black — which are clear with speckles of their respective shades. (Psst, you may remember the Polka White from the Tibi Fall/Winter 2014 fashion show.)
While visiting Jin Soon (yes, the woman herself!) at her West Village location in NYC, she took me through the shades and inspiration while one of nail artists coated me with the Kookie White shade with Polka White on top. Cool, right? And being the innovator she is, she painted all different combinations and patters which I for one am inspired to try this spring.
All JINsoon nail polish is 5-Free, created without the toxic chemicals formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, formaldehyde resin and camphor.
The JINsoon Spring/Summer 2014 Color Field Collection is now available at select Space NK, Sephora, and Barneys NY and Nordstrom locations. Learn more at jinsoon.com
