Müller™ Yogurt Comes to the U.S.

You may have noticed a new yogurt in your grocery aisle. Muller Quaker Dairy, a joint venture between PepsiCo, Inc. and the Theo Müller Group, has introduced Europe’s beloved Müller™ yogurt to the U.S. Still at large a family business, Müller Dairy, which was founded in 1896 by German dairy farmer Ludwig Müller is run by his grandson, Theo Müller, who manages the business in several countries.

Launching in both the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region I ventured to the grocery store to try all three yogurt forms; Müller™ FrütUp™, a parfait-style yogurt with a light, airy fruit mousse available in six flavors), Müller™ Corner™, a two-chamber cup that includes creamy yogurt in one half and a separate mix-ins like fruit, caramelized almonds, and chocolate in the other, as well as Müller™ Greek Corner™, a creamier Greek-style version of the Müller Corner which is available in four flavors.

I recognize that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but I have been struggling with adding it to my routine. Müller has made it’s yogurts an easy option nutritional benefits of yogurt. All Müller yogurt is made from reduced-fat milk and all varieties are a good source of calcium and protein.

I grabbed a few different flavors of Müller™ but decided to get the FrütUp, Corner and Greek Corner all in strawberry so I could differentiate the difference in all three products. Although the Greek Corner was thicker then the regular (a common characteristic of all Greek yogurts since they are strained to remove more water from the yogurt making the consistancy firmer and creamier), it’s actually quite light and milder then the other Greek yogurts that I have tried; making the difference in flavor of the regular vs. Greek yogurt much more subtle. Especially once the jam was mixed in. The strawberry jam used was sweet and yummy, similar in taste to those individually packed jams you get at diners (you know what I’m talking about). I like that it’s separated out in a different compartments so I can control how much jam goes in. The FrutUp may have been my favorite of the three. The fruit mousse mixes really evenly and easily into the yogurt making it smooth, and airy. It’s still really sweet, but it’s probably the lightest of the three yogurts.

I also wanted to try one of the candy flavored Müller™ yogurts so I settled on the Müller™ Corner lowfat yogurt with Choco Balls — it tasted like dessert. The combination of the vanilla yogurt and Choco Balls was delicious!
