Cosmoprof preview party

I can’t believe it’s only a week until Cosmoprof in Vegas! Earlier in the month Cosmoprof hosted a preview party at EZ Studios in NYC for a sneak peek at some of the hair, nail, skin, and makeup. We got to mingle with the brands and play with some of the products (pictured above). I’m very much looking forward to the event next week, especially since I was one of the judges of the ICMAD CITY beauty awards, which were announcing the winners during the show!

A little background info about Cosmoprof North America (CPNA), for all you beauty lovers! This is the leading beauty trade show and a industry go-to for finding the newest and most exciting brands launching into the market. This three day event is held in Vegas and boasts over 33,000 attendees and 1,154 exhibitors from 38 different countries. Those attending CPNA can expect to discover unique brand launches, product innovations, new channels for distribution, and form key relationships with top industry professionals and retailers. So basically, it’s a mecca for people in the beauty industry.

From the NYC preview party here are a few brands to have on your radar:

Mullein & Sparrow

Based out of Brooklyn, Mullein & Sparrow is a luxury vegan beauty line created by founder Anit Hora. Her brand offers a variety of skin and hair care products as well as candles and gift sets. Her skin-firming and hydrating body oil, which is packed with antioxidants and organic essential oils is formulated with lemongrass mint, which gives off a very distinctive and citrus-y smell. I really loved the way this product felt on my skin, it was super smooth and not too oily, but the smell was intense.

Emani Vegan Cosmetics

Founded by Michelle Doan, Emani Cosmetics is all about going green and using only natural ingredients. Suffering from cystic acne for the majority of her life, Michelle set out to create a glamorous yet effective line of makeup for even the most problematic skin types. They are 100% vegan and cruelty free and are seriously committed to only using the best ingredients for your skin. They offer a full line of makeup products as well as brushes, and all are eco-friendly. I got my hands on one of her bestselling products, her Perfect 10 Primer Serum. Infused with over ten different organic nutrients, this primer helps replenish skin and minimize the appearance of pores, all while offering a luminous glow and extending makeup wear. This primer feels amazing on, in fact, it could even double as a daily moisturizer. It has a subtle natural scent and leaves skin feeling smooth and hydrated. If you’re looking for a new skin friendly primer, definitely check this one out.

Londontown is an English brand dedicated to nail care and color products. They’re known for their family’s formula called Florium Complex, which combines nail care science with the restorative properties of Britain’s rapeseed flower oil, evening primrose oil, chamomile, cucumber and other essential vitamins. Their Kur Gel Genius Top Coat promises to take your manicure to the next level by delivering a ultra-glossy finish, gel-like durability, and chipping prevention. It’s infused with Rapeseed flower oil which a natural emollient and a healthy way to extend nail color wear without UV gel damage.

Manna Kadar Beauty

This brand was definitely one of my favorites from the event. Everything from their packaging, presentation, and products were impressive. Founder Manna Kadar was named one of the Top 20 CEO’s under 40, and just a quick glance at her website showcases her passion and dedication. Her signature cosmetics line merges cutting edge color trends with quality and long-wearing ingredients. With that in mind, I took her Liplocked Priming Lipstains for a test drive and I was not disappointed! These unique lip products are a lip primer, gloss and stain all in one. They go on super smoothly and offer good pigment that’s pretty long lasting. Formulated with Vitamin A and E as well as Berry Extract, these lippies also make your lips feel moisturized and smooth. The colors are amazing, I really do love how even if the glossiness fades, the color remains due to the staining properties. The colors I received were:

From left to right:  Shae, Sienna, Lucky,  Rosette, Pinot Noir

FROM LEFT TO RIGHT:  SHAE (light pink neutral cream), SIENNA (Chestnut Rose), LUCKY (nude petal pink),  ROSETTE (poppy pink), PINOT NOIR (red wine).

The LipLocked Priming Lipstains are $24 each and available in other colors as well. Be sure to check out Manna’s other products as well!

Intelligent Nutrients

Intelligent Nutrients was created by “the father of Safe Cosmetics” and original Aveda founder Horst Rechelbacher. Someone I feel very fortunate to have met and a true pioneer in this industry. This environmentally focused company is centered around vegan and organic personal care products, ranging from hair care, skin care, aromas, and body oils. Cosmoprof attendees were given samples of their PureLuxe Regimen, designed for dry and damaged hair. The regimen includes a Replenishing Shampoo and Conditioner as well as a Leave In Conditioner. Free of parabens, harsh sulfates and synthetic fragrance, these hair care products utilize proven plant actives to repair, strengthen and boost shine. If you enjoy the smell of Aveda products, then you’ll enjoy these as well. Out of all three products I definitely liked the leave-in conditioner the most, it’s lightweight yet nourishing, and provides oil-free shine. If sustainable companies and products are your thing you should 100% take a peek at their product line.

Battington Lashes

If you know me, you know I love me a good pair of eyelashes. I’ve tried so many different brands, styles, and variations I could probably write a manual on them. Battington’s Lashes are 100% handmade silk, which provides a natural yet glamorous look. I of course went for their most dramatic style (I love a big lash). These are amazing because they are so lightweight and last up to 25 applications! These 3D silk lashes are available in six different styles and you can find them in select department stores and boutiques across the U.S. For my fellow New Yorkers, you can snag them at  any Ricky’s  beauty supply store.
