Confessions of a Glossier Addict

glossier-skincare-products

From the moment I set my eyes on Glossier, it was love at first sight. When Into The Gloss founder and “It” girl Emily Weiss introduced Glossier, a “skincare as makeup, the undeniable cool factor set it apart from the rest of the beauty industry.

The first four Glossier products that rolled out included a facial mist, moisturizer, balm and skin tint. Sold separately or as a complete set, they’re made with soothing and hydrating ingredients such as aloe, rosewater and castor seed oil. Next came, the Coconut Balm Dotcom, Mega Greens Galaxy Pack, Moisturizing Moon Mask, and most recently Boy Brow and Milky Jelly Cleanser. I’ve tried every product in the line with the exception of the new cleanser (which is on the wish list!).

With consistent product rollouts, the Glossier team keeps the beauty crowd (including us) on the edge of their seats, waiting for the next must-have Glossier product to release.

Soothing Facial Mist – This isn’t just water, per se; it’s made with roses and aloe to hydrate, soothe, and leave you feeling fresh and awake, prepping your skin for the Priming Moisturizer. Whether used under your moisturizer and makeup or for a quick pick-me-up refresher, the soothing facial mist acts as a water reservoir to hydrate skin.

Priming Moisturizer – The Priming Moisturizer creates a canvas for the Perfecting Skin Tint or any other favorite foundation you have in your arsenal. It’s water based and plumps skin with moisture to create an even texture, which helps minimize the appearance of pores, minus any heavy blurring ingredients.

Balm Dotcom – The do-everything skin salve has made it’s way into every makeup artists bag. Why? Because it’s packed with antioxidants and natural emollients to nourish and repair dry, irritated skin. For are coconut lovers, there’s also a Coconut Balm Dotcom which adds a mood-boosting update to the cult favorite with the dreamy scent of coconut.

Perfecting Skin Tint – Perfect for the days you want a ‘no-makeup” look, the Perfecting Skin Tin evens out discoloration and leaves your face looking toned, smooth, and dewy. Available in five shades (light, medium, dark, deep, and rich), the breathable, ultra thin formula auto-fits to skin, making application quick and easy.

Mega Greens Galaxy Pack – The Mega Greens Galaxy Pack is green juice for your face, made to balance and condition pores and calm inflammation. The cleansing mask detoxifies skin by drawing out excess oil and impurities—leaving your face with a velvety-matte, clean finish.

Moisturizing Moon Mask – Following use of the Mega Greens Galaxy Pack, using the Moisturizing Moon Mask, which is a rich formula and heavier then your average moisture mask. Packed with sweet almond oil, plant-based squalane, and hyaluronic acid, it plumps skin up with hydration, helping to smooth fine lines and restore elasticity, while gently brightening and even out your complexion.

glossier-mask-duo

Over the holidays Glossier launched The Mask Duo Set which included 6 single use, Nespresso-like pods of each mask (12 total). It’s one of those sets you want to stock up on if you’re constantly traveling and on the go (like moi)! True story on my way back from Austin, TSA took my full size Glossier Masks, which are 3oz and in total regulation to be carried on (I rarely check bags). Her reasoning was that I was only allowed 2 ziplock bags of skincare products max (I had three). I gave my but I’m a beauty editor plea and presented my case as last year I averaged 2+ flights/month and had never had this issue (and frankly usually I have far more then 2 small zippis of skincare! She didn’t budge which leads me to one believe that this lady just wanted my masks! In any case I’ve been traveling free and clear with these travel pods ever since.

Boy Brow – The blogosphere is abuzz with Brow Boy reviews. Why? Because you only need ONE (yes, one) product to thicken, fill in, and groom brows. The creamy wax formula is inspired by traditional hair pomade for soft, flexible hold that doesn’t stiffen or flake, offering a sheer pigment load gives a natural oomph of color. Keywords: AMAZING and NATURAL.

NEW! Milky Jelly Cleanser – The newest product in the Glossier line, is the Milky Jelly Cleanser (which we’re dying to get our hands on). What we’ve gathered form the reviews is that it can be used on dry or wet skin, and the product dissolves away makeup and grime while conditioning your face so it’s is left feeling healthy and soft, never tight. Note: It is gentle enough to remove eye makeup but if waterproof, your best bet is to use a cleaning oil or makeup remover first before Milky Jelly.
