Before I get into this post, I’m not going to even mention the classic Neutrogena face wipes, because we all know they are the best! So we’re moving on to some new and classic products that are on my list. One of my longstanding favorite Neutrogena products is their Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask. I swear by it! In fact it’s probably my favorite hair mask of all time. Recently, Neutrogena hosted two events that I was lucky enough to make it to. The first was with Kerry Washington’s personal hair stylist, Takisha Sturdivant-Drew to talk about two of the brands iconic products, the Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Mask and their Anti-Residue Shampoo. The other event was to introduce their NEW Ultra Light Cleansing Oil. Also this summer Neutrogena introduced a new SPF range, CoolDry Sport Sunscreen that is phenomenal for anyone that works out outdoors.
The mask I already touched on and can’t stress enough if you have dry or color-treated hair and need to breath some life into your strands, this should be a staple in your bathroom. I’ve been using it once a week (or whenever I feel I need it) for years. It’s especially a life saver after music festivals when my hair is all knotted up and I can’t get a brush through it. I leave it on for about 3-5 minutes and rinse out to super smooth hair. I’m also convinced it helps prevent split ends and lets me go in between hair cuts longer.
Neutrogena The Anti-Residue Shampoo – I’m not sure how I missed the memo on this product since it’s been around forever. It actually won the Allure Best of Beauty 2010 award and I can understand why. First off if you use a lot of styling products or feel like you get a lot of build-up in your hair adding a once-a-week clarifying shampoo is a must. If you have color-treated hair you have to be careful of some on the market since they can strip your hair although I’m assured this one is super gentle and safe for color treated hair. Takisha also gave it her seal of approval and both this and the hair mask are two of Kerry Washington’s favorite products from the line. Since cutting my hair I put so much hair wax and dry shampoo in it that this product has been a great addition to my shower. My hair does feel really clean after using it without feeling stripped or dry.
I’ve also been testing out the new Neutrogena Ultra Light Cleansing Oil and it’s great. I hope all of you are double cleansing — which is just a fancy way of saying using using a makeup remover and face wash to double cleanse your face. I’ll actually be doing a more comprehensive post on cleansing oils since everyone is coming out with one and I strongly believe in adding a cleansing oil to your routine. Neutrogena’s is excellent. It’s lighter weight then most of the ones on the market so it’s not a heavy oil feel and melts off makeup so quickly (you can actually see your foundation dripping beige in your sink. It doesn’t make me sensitive around my eyes and also does a great job taking off waterproof makeup. I still like to use an eye makeup remover and focus this more on my face but it does work well for anyone that doesn’t want to take the extra step.
