If there’s one thing I’ve always appreciated about Clinique, it is their attention to detail, the emphasis they put on the beauty counter experience and educating consumers about their skin. We live in such a fast paced world that it’s quite easy to read about a product to rush out and buy it or order it online without taking the time to figure out if it’s right for your skin types or fits into a regimen. Which is why I’m so excited to have had the opportunity to partner with them to experience some of their new services and products.
Understanding that consumers come to them with all different needs, Clinique has launched You-Time, a range of 6 skin and makeup services to fit every schedule and skin type. For color they have Pick Your Pout (for those looking for a the perfect lip), Eye Do’s (for an eye-makeover) and Flawless Fast (which helps you find that perfect foundation, concealer and pressed powder). For skincare they offer Daily Detox, Insta-Glow and Jump Start which are all services to address your skin type and skincare needs.
I stopped by the Clinique counter at Macy’s Herald Square for a consultation with their Regional Education Executive, Marisa Aquino. Since I had a lot of You-Time that day, I indulged in a mix of services starting with a skin consultation quiz. I love the contrast between the old-school manual to digital version of the test as seen above.
Since I have normal to oily skin, my 3-step would be Liquid Facial Soap, Clarifying Lotion 3 and then Dramatically Moisturizing Gel. Most everyone is familiar with 3-step (or at least the original), it’s your designated three products (based on your skin type) that focuses on improving and maintaining skin health and keeping it balanced through cleansing, exfoliating, and then moisturizing.
Once skin is balanced you can add in additional products based on need. Marissa recommended the Turnaround Revitalizing collection and walked me through the products, which I’ve been testing out and will report back shortly! The collection is designed to wake up dull skin and boost radiance.
Once we got my skincare regimen worked out, we closed the session with a You-Time Pick Your Pout service. It was the cherry on the cake getting a fun lip and I was dying to try their new Pop Lip Colour + Primer lipsticks! Offering 16 shades ranging from nude to browns, coral, purple, pinks and reds, these creamy lippies are packed with color and offer a demi-matte finish. I can pull off just about any bright shade, so I had a field day with them – top 5 being Poppy Pop, Punch Pop, Cherry Pop, Wow Pop, and Berry Pop.
