Since attending Buxom’s Speakeasy event last week, I’ve had so much fun experimenting with the line. Prior to the event I was only really familiar with their lipsticks and mascara — which is to be expected, they rule those categories. Well apparently I missed the memo on their blushes, BB Creams, cream eye shadows and a whole slew of other products. I listed some of my favorites (thus far) in last weeks post. Here’s the makeup I tried at the event (as seen in the photos above):
FACE:
Buxom Show Some Skin Weightless Foundation in Meet Me Latte – lightweight foundation for neutral beige for medium skin tones that combines the benefits of BB and foundation with light to medium coverage and SPF 30 protection.
Buxom Hot Escape Bronzer – Maldives – golden bronze creamy-smooth bronzer that smells amazing and has great buildable coverage.
Buxom True Hue Blush in Shangri-La-La – toasted berry that delivers a pop of color to cheeks and is great for enhancing cheekbones.
EYES:
Buxom Pen & Ink Long-Last Eyeliner in P.S. – black – A true black waterproof eyeliner with a flat felt tip that lets you create a thin or thick line depending on how you hold the brush.
Buxom Lash Waterproof Mascara in Blackest Black – volumizing, waterproof mascara. I have long lashes but they aren’t thick. This is a great for separating and helping to build that volume.
LIPS:
Buxom Full-On Lip Stick in shade Acapulco – rich lilac, berry shade that has a tingling sensation when you apply.
Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in Celeste – prismatic soft peach sheer, shimmering lip gloss with a tingling, plumping effect.
{Shades: Celeste, Acapulco and Pen & Ink Eyeliner used on it’s thin or thick line depending on how you hold the brush}
Normally, I go for a bright lip so having a more intense eye with a plum, lilac lip shade and gloss on top was a fun change and great for an evening look. I had a charity event with Patricia Field so hanging out with the queen of fashion (who’s makeup is always perfection), I wanted to bring my A-game and this entire look really did it for me. It was sophisticated but still captured that fun, Buxom Babe spirit. (And it’s so easy to recreate!) Start with the foundation, then add the bronzer in the classic 3-motion, followed by the blush for some cheekbones! Then attack the eyes and lips. I usually save my more berry blushes for winter but will now start wearing them in the evening.
