Alright, I’ll admit it: my expectations were quite high for Emerson’s 2014 collection. But not to fret, my fellow ex punk girls; my expectations were met. Walking in, it was like being at a family gathering before a big dinner; everyone was happy to be there and eager to see the collection. The inspiration (get this!) was an imagined garden party where the Ramones were playing a secret show and was crashed by a bunch of punk rock kids — talk about imagination!
The collection was a perfect balance of rocker meets girly girl. A strong purple motif was carried throughout the collection (even ending with the models walking down the runway with purple flowers in there hair.) With plenty of fun prints and black and white, this collection is perfect for any girl that likes to do things just a bit differently.
The nails were everything. Miss Pop Nails for Ciate came up with 3 looks: a rough black and white stripe with a safety pin in the middle (doesn’t get too much more bad a$$ then that), an abstract “garden catwalk”, and an Allium flower print modeled after Emerson’s Jackie Fraser-Swan’s favorite flower.
