Chic for Fashion Week: My 10 Must-Haves for #NYFW

Fashion week is once again upon us and as I’ll be running around town all week from Lincoln Center to Milk Studios to catch the shows, be sure to follow me @prettyconnected on instagram and twitter for all the latest happenings backstage and front! And as part of preparing for the big week ahead, here’s my go to list of products to keep me calm, collected and undoubtedly chic for fashion week.

Fashion Week Must haves

1. myCharge Summit 3000 ($79.99) – this may be your most important purchase for all of fashion week. In fact I don’t think I would have made it through last season without it. With up to 13 hours talk time this iPhone/Smartphone charger can be passed around the tents to save infinite phones from dying. And because it can be recharged on the go by a USB drive or outlet (it has a built in plug!), you don’t have to sweat it running low on you. If it does, just plug it in and you’re back on.

2. Bendel’s notebook (currently unavailable) and Cross Your T’s Stylus & Pen ($25) – I mean does it get any chicer then this? This notebook is definitely worthy of the front row! For something smaller and more on the go, MoleSkine’s Classic Hard Cover Mini Plain Notebook ($9.95) is my other go-to. So no matter the purse size, you’re covered!

3. WOOED Limon Understated Brown Sunglasses ($95) – I just got these and am so excited about them! They are super chic on and easily the most lightweight sunnies I own. Handcrafted with wood, they are comfortable and unique. 100% USA/UVB protection and polarized lenses, style post coming soon!

4. Lise Watier Palette India Eyeshadows ($42 CA) – This has been my it palette of the season! It contains 6 half cream, half powder shades and goes on so silky, I’m absolutely in love with it. There are great base shades that are easily blended, plus a pink that I actually use on my cheeks as a highlighting blush, as well as a green and purple that work beautifully mixed into a smokey eye.

5. Orlane Skin Recovery Masque ($90) – This mask was a welcomed surprise at my door. Two things to note about fashion week. 1) I will be sleep deprived, and 2) pending on the after-party situation possibly hungover. However, thanks to Orlane’s anti-fatigue mask my skin doesn’t need to show it. It decongests the skin to eliminate impurities, toxins, and free radicals and helps brighten it up and hydrate it.

6. Napoleon Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer ($59) – Again, with the upcoming dehydration I will likely inflict on my skin this water-based primer calms with Vitamin E + Chamomile Extract and gives it that hydrating drink of water it so desperately needs. It then supports the rest of my makeup application for a flawless finish.

7. La Prairie Anti-Aging Eye & Lip Perfection a Porter ($150) – Packaged like a work of art, this compact has a layer for eyes and lips, plus mirror that’s unbelievably luxurious and perfect for on the go touch-ups. With a targeted anti-wrinkle and dark circles formula for the eyes, and antioxidant packed balm for the lips, between this, the mask and featured primer, my skin is set!

8. Tweezerman Fresh & Fruity Mini Slant Tweezer ($15) – I’m a loyalist to getting my eyebrow’s threaded at Hibba’s in NYC, but one the shows set in I won’t be making it in to the salon so to get me through the week, these perfectly compact, cosmetic case friendly tweezers will do the trick! Plus how cute is the fruit print?

9. Degree Expert Protection motionSENSE Anti-perspirant & Deodorant – you’re gonna sweat running around in this heat, and with the motionSENSE technology it’s motion activated to keep you dry no matter how active you get. My only complaint is I prefer my deodorants not scented or lightly scented and I’m currently using the ‘fresh energy  scent which is a bit sweet. But all things considered I’d rather smell like tropical fruit then body odor.

10. Simple Eye Make-Up Remover Pads ($5) – I tend to go more bold on the eyes during fashion week and sometimes rush through my evening skincare regimen since I’m so anxious to crawl into bed. These eye-pads are a staple next to my bed to make sure I get everything off — especially the waterproof products. And are gentle enough for sensitive skin.
