Shirtless men can make a rise in the temperature but that paled in comparison to the sun soaked rooftop of the Empire hotel. Nautica’s latest designs took it in stride, perhaps taking a cue from their ensembles imagining their next stop was the yacht club or an ocean front bungalow. The collection built off primary colors had some exciting hits of neon that lent a fashion forward twist to otherwise traditional menswear styles.
I really appreciated the pieces that had equal parts prep, athletic and maritime inspiration. The chambray blazer with elbow patches was a stand out star that many were crowding around, not to be out shined by utilitarian cargo pants with a much sleeker demeanor. The lightweight outerwear with their high rise collars and techno fabrication were the perfect touch of members-only of the future, and let me tell you this is a club you want to be in.
