Sunglass Coachella Diaries plus me on Extra with Mario Lopez + Sunglass Hut

Extra Extra! After a big week in LA shooting music festival sunglass trends for Extra TV with Sunglass Hut. I took my shades on the road and some of the top trends and headed to Palm Springs to Coachella.

Home of great music, parties and fashion – what more can you ask for? Killer sunglasses? Beyonce, maybe? Jeremy Scott announcing a Moschino x H&M collaboration? Revolve creating their own music festival? Create & Cultivate continuing to be epic and empowering women. Here were some of my highlights and sunglass diary:

Day 1 Friday, The Look: Vogue Eyewear x Gigi Hadid Round Sunglasses

Outfit details: Vogue x Gigi Hadid Round Sunglasses, Naked Princess top, French Connection jeans, Skinnydip London bag, UGG Australia open toe boots.
 

For the first day we took it easy and started at the Lemonhead Desert Glow House getting our hair braided and filled with glitter before heading to the UGG Australia brunch at the Fredrick Loewe Estate. There we drooled over all the fuzzy sandals that UGG just launched for summer and played in the paper flower garden while eating cotton candy and enjoying many beverages. At night we hit up the Rhonda Queen of the Desert party sponsored by Ray-Ban for some dancing and late night fun.

Gigi Hadid x Vogue Eyewear Launch Party

Gigi Hadid sure knows how to throw a party! The #ShowYourVogue party celebrated the launch of Gigi’s recent capsule collection with Vogue Eyewear. Decked out in an all pink Barbie-esque ensemble, the 22 year old model launched her line of sunnies in the most fabulous way possible.

Held at The Industria NYC, the venue was split into different booths that uniquely expressed the different sunglass styles, and created unlimited selfie opportunities. One booth included sink faucets that served rosé and white wine complete with a bathtub full of wine, another boasted models dressed in retro garb baking sweet treats in a 60’s inspired kitchen, as well as one other booth had bad-ass looking models in tinted frames playing poker at a round table (complete with Gigi x Vogue playing cards, of course). Guests had the option to borrow disposable cameras to take Instagram worthy polaroids, as well as walk the mini red carpet that was setup in the front.

Throwing Shade with Sophia Bush in Times Square


I had an absolute blast on Tuesday co-hosting Sunglass Hut’s Facebook live with actress, activist and fellow dog lover, Sophia Bush. We were live from the Made for Summer event in Times Square where Sophia shared her current top 3 picks for summer. Somehow the genius’ behind the event were able to live stream the chat and some photos above the store which was pretty epic since I can’t believe my face was on a billboard in prime Times Square! Palm trees and Panama Hats

There really isn’t anything quite like a 3 day weekend to hit the recharge button, especially when you have an exciting 4 day week to look forward to. The beauty and booze lover in me are both being appeased between the FounderMade Beauty Summit on Friday and then Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on Saturday, which ahem Alicia Keys is performing at! They are really going all out for their 10th Anniversary, I CAN NOT WAIT. I’m also looking forward to being with Nylon on Friday for the celebration of their music issue, which is awesome since it saves me the trip to Barnes & Nobles to buy every issue. Also Charlie XCX is performing and hopefully Tove Lo who is hosting the event.

I can’t believe I haven’t blogged since Wednesday! I know it’s only been a few days but since I got back from Boston all I’ve wanted to do is get my apartment in order and stay local. Every week for over two months I’ve been in a different state, and while it’s all been with amazing brands, it’s taken a toll.

On the up side, while I haven’t had as much time to write I have been playing with some new accessories I’m excited about starting with these Sudio Sweden Vasa Earphones. They only recently started selling in the US so I’m honored to be one of the first to get my hands on a set. I’m going through a perpetual rose gold phase (although they come in other colors too!) and love the simplistic and yet elegant design of them. They also have great sound quality, and come with a chic travel case, which I need, since I’m the queen of tangling everything (you don’t want to look into my jewelry box. Sunglass Hut x Refinery29 Sunnies & Selfies #ShadesOfYou

Charlie and I had a blast this morning at the Refinery29 x Sunglass Hut “Sunnies & Selfies” Shades of You Pop-up event in Washington Square Park in NYC. Highly selfie-able sets and all the latest and greatest shades from Sunglass Hut are on display for guests to try on and pose with. georgia may jagger PM

Charlie made friends with our host, Georgia May Jagger who was sweet enough to put his story up on her Instagram page. And now he’s getting adoption inquiries in her comments — too bad he’s taken!
My little rescue has come a long way in 2 months from a kill shelter to this bombshell’s arms. He had such a hard time getting adopted because of his age but hopefully this inspires more people to adopt.

Dogs are a big commitment though, unlike sunglasses! Which if you’re in town today, the pop-up is open to the public from 3-7pm by the fountain in Washington Square Park!
