Last night, Harper’s Bazaar and one of my favorite-if-I-could-afford-it stores, Jeffrey’s hosted an exclusive event to thank supporters of the Jeffrey Fashion Cares program. Hosted Harper’s Bazaar, editor in chief,  Glenda Bailey, and Mr. Jeffrey himself, Jeffrey Kalinsky, and designers Derek Lam, Peter Som and Rachel Roy it was quite an honor to be in the presence of so many wonderful fashion veterans.

Jeffrey Fashion Cares, is an organization that raises funds and awareness for people living with HIV/AIDS and members of the LGBTQ community.  Over the past 18 years, Jeffrey Fashion Cares has raised nearly $11 million for LGBT and LGBT youth charities and non-profit organizations, with 95% of every dollar raised going directly to beneficiaries through the New York and Atlanta events.

For those of you in NYC that would like to get involved, or attend the next Jeffrey Fashion Cares New York benefit, which will be held on March 26th visit jeffreyfashioncares.com

Bravo’s Mad Fashion and Fashion Hunters Season Finale Tonight

Q&A with the cast of Mad Fashion and Fashion Hunters

Yesterday, I had a sneak peek into Bravo’s Mad Fashion and Fashion Hunters season finale airing tonight and some quality time with the casts from both shows.

What to expect? For Mad Fashion, watch Chris March and his team  in action as they make the most amazing black McQueen inspired evening gown for Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, Chrissy Teigen, for her first major red carpet appearance (with, ahem, boyfriend John Legend) to the 2011 Met Ball. Since the event already happened, I don’t feel bad about showing you the dress. The train is to die for!!! It’s made from thousands of Swarovski crystals!!! And despite a little drama over which collar Chrissy should wear, the feather one she ends up going for is stunning. Although wait until you see the other neck piece — It’s so Mcqueen with a Chris March twist;). And considering the theme of this years Met Ball was Alexander McQueen it would have been perfect!

The only frustrating part of the episode is wanting to tell Chrissy to have her own opinions when it comes to what she wears! Input from your man

10/22: Teen Vogue Fashion University

On October 22nd (tomorrow!), join Teen Vogue online for their annual TEEN VOGUE Fashion University, which serves as an educational program where the business of fashion is taught by its leaders.  Hosted live from New York City, this exclusive event provides 500 young women who aspire to a career in the fashion industry the opportunity to learn from top designers, editors and fashion entrepreneurs, including Michael KorsAlexander Wang, Jason Wu, Peter Som,  Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler, and TEEN VOGUE’s EIC Amy Astley, among others.

This year, anyone not local can experience Fashion U. online!  Viewers will have the opportunity to watch the top six seminars from the October 22nd curriculum as they happen live from the Hudson Theater, and they can be viewed on demand whenever, wherever after the live event. Registration is open now at fashionu.fora.tv for $34.95.

As someone who went to ‘Fashion College‘ — I went to the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), this type of exposure is huge! At best we’d get one honorary speaker during the semester, with Teen Vogue it’s a back to back line-up of industry favorites. Personally, I can’t wait for Jack and Lazaro from Proenza Schouler –I’m obsessed with them. It wasn’t until last year during fashion week when I got to meet and hear the duo speak of which I’m still inspired by.

Below is a peek at this year’s “curriculum,” and more information and a full list of seminars, and resources for aspiring fashionista’s looking to break into the industry visit teenvoguefashionuniversity.com
