PC featured on Wantable: What’s in the beauty box?
Posted 05/06/2013 by Lara
I’m so excited to announce that I’m partnering with Wantable this month to help curate their spring make up box! If you’re not familiar with Wantable you should be beauty queens! It’s a subscription service where they hand pick 5 – 7 full-size products based on your beauty profile and shipped it to your door every month. You have the option to do a one time buy or subscribe for a monthly membership where you can pause or canceled at any time, so you’re never locked in. (Think Birchbox but instead of samples you get full size product.) Shippings and returns are always free so your happiness is guaranteed! Wantable also offers a jewelry box version which I’m a little obsessed with as well, considering accessories are my other vice.
This month they have just the products to help you ease into the final months of Spring and get ready for a Summer! Remember the quickest way to become a beauty expert, is to keep trying new products, and Wantable is an amazing way to do just that. By filling out your beauty profile (it’s quick) they’re able to customize the perfect box for you. Product offerings spans brow, eyeliner, blush, highlighters, lip color, nail polish, lash product, bronzer, brushes and eye shadow. You rate each product according to “love”, “like” or “dislike”. Any products in the “dislike” pile, you’ll never see in your box so if you only want eye products, that’s all you’ll get in your box, if you want a mix, you can fill out your profile accordingly. From there it will have you pick your favorite shades.
Some of my favorite products from this month include FACE Stockholm lipsticks + blush, Knock Out Cosmetics matte nail polish, Three Custom Color mini pressed powder, Cailyn eyeliner, and Manna Kadar transfix. (I mean how good looking is my block!). Plus prior to Wantable, I had never tried Cailyn or Manna Kadar, and I’m so glad for the introduction. All of these brands and products are available in the may box, plus many more!
Subscribe for $36/month or buy a single box for $40 (all valued between $80 and $100+). Each box is packed with 5- 7 full-size products hand-picked from unique, specialty, and premium brands and includes expert application tips and tricks.
Check it out for yourself at Wantable.com and let me know what you think!

Macy’s Launches Exclusive Marilyn Monroe Collection
Posted 03/04/2013 by Lara

It feels like we’ve been stuck in the winter doldrums of boots, sweaters, and heavy coats forever. So when Macy’s unveiled its exclusive Marilyn Monroe collection, the fun, flirty dresses and carefree styles were a breath of fresh spring air.
The collection—created by LF USA and Authentic Brands Group—translates the blonde bombshell’s famous allure into today’s fashion vocabulary. While form-fitting silhouettes and playful patterns like polka dots and gingham add a touch of retro charm, each piece has a timeless appeal that suits Monroe’s enduring legacy as a style icon.
The line effortlessly recreates her ultra-feminine sensibility, from girl-next-door pastel-hued shorts to bold red and sultry black dresses. Deftly incorporating on-trend details, like peplum waistlines and sheer overlays, the Marilyn Monroe collection feels modern and chic, but with a smile and a wink to keep it from being overly serious—just like the sassy starlet herself.
The Estate of Marilyn Monroe is a subsidiary of and managed by Authentic Brands Group. This March, “Marilyn Monroe” will launch exclusively at Macy’s in store and online at macys.com/mstylelab.

SuperTrash Opens in NYC
Posted 10/19/2012 by Lara
I love this recent explosion of European designers opening stores in the US (and selfishly NYC so I can get in on it!). Last night I attended the opening of SuperTrash, which is the brainchild of Dutch fashion designer Olcay Gulsen hosted by Interview Magazine. Despite a name like SuperTrash the designs are anything but. It’s actually a very chic mix of feminine and edgy — we’re talking a white tuxedo jacket (with a black trim), crossed fabrications of motorcycle style jackets and vests, metallic jeans, feminine tops with sweet lacing details… They additionally have a very feminine line of lingerie, shoes, handbags and accessories, a fragrance line — and a magazine! And the pricing is affordable (I’d say it’s comprable to Top Shop).

Ring in the Holiday with Henri Bendel (& mark your calendar for Nov. 15th…)
Posted 10/18/2012 by Lara
By now you all know that I’m a Bendel’s girl. Their Fifth Avenue flagship store feels like a museum every time I visit — except better since I can actually play with the assortment and have the opportunity to purchase it. So naturally, any invite I get from them should come with an oxygen tank. Recently, I visited the office to peek the holiday collection, which I’m so excited to share with you!

But first, mark your calendar for November 15th! You’re invited to join, Chris Fiore, President of Henri Bendel for the unveiling of their holiday windows. Rumor has it Bendel’s is going 1920s style. Plus, you can see all the beauties I featured below up close and personal and for any purchase you make that evening 10% of the proceeds will benefit The Eric Trump Foundation Charity for Children.
