We may be in a heatwave but the days of summer are winding down and there’s so much fun happening this weekend that if you’re looking to get out, there’s two happenings to have on your radar.
1. Sunday, August 14th from 12pm – 9pm, the First Annual The Unicorn Carnival hosted at Greenwood Beach at Coney Art Walls
Presented by beauty brand Winky Lux,if you like live brands, beach breezes, roller disco and endless amounts of glitter, the Unicorn Carnival could make your perfect Sunday. It will feature a Glitter Bar where guests will be able to get a rainbow brow or other fun look with Winky Lux products. A portion of the proceeds from the Carnival will benefit AWARE, a grass-roots organization dedicated to promoting awareness and generating funds to make meaningful improvements in the lives of women and girls in NYC. 2. August 12 – 13th New York City Women’s Surf Film Festival presented by Luna Bar and Lava Girl Surf presented at Rockaway Beach Surf Club.
Meet filmmakers, surfers, and artists. The event features photo exhibitions, films, morning surf sessions complete with raffles and giveaways. Admission is free! James, Charlie went up with Luna Bars yesterday! And I took a surf class at SkudinSurf and hung out with the founder, Will Skudin who is ranked top 5 surfers in the world!
