During the Emmy’s Dove hinted at something big was going down with their body washes and started this whole #OneShowerChallenge campaign. To be honest, they were throwing out words like ‘breakthrough’ and ‘setting a new standard’ and I had no idea what it was all about. Until now.
Frankly, I’ve always been happy with Dove body washes — I like how it feels on my skin, the packaging, the price tag… And there’s something so wholesome and welcoming about Dove, that makes you feel good about purchasing from them. That said, I appreciate that they are perfectionists and always evolving to be the best they can be… for us!
So here’s what’s new: Dove has reformulated ALL of their body washes to be even more milder, and now contain almost 25% more Glycinate, an ultra-mild cleanser mostly found in premium face products and offer 10x more skin natural nourishment then other leading body washes. Historically milder cleansers (which PS is anything but mild in results — we’re talking strictly the experience) don’t lather as much and some of you may have heard that the agents used to create a big lather aren’t necessarily good for us. So why do we care? Because physiologically we all feel so much cleaner when applying a deep lather and it’s part of the experience we’ve come to expect. The new Dove formula has broken the body wash paradigm, allowing women to get that rich later we crave from a more mild cleanser our skin needs. The new formula still contains their signature NutriumMoisture technology.
During fashion week, Dove indulged me to a night at The Quin Hotel where I arrived to bottles of their New Body Wash prompting me to take the #OneShowerChallenge. Here’s how it works — you shower and use it once. (Complicated, right?). The NEW Dove Body Washes provide softer, smoother skin after just one shower. And it has my seal of approval. I used the Dove Gentle Exfoliating Nourishing Body Wash and the Dove Deep Moisture Nourishing Body Wash to take the test and they are now (as they were before) staples in my bathroom. I’m so happy that with the new formula they aren’t changing the names or scents. I still know exactly which Dove washes are my favorites (the two listed). And I was shocked by how smooth my skin was after using it. I honestly wasn’t expecting too much of a difference given how great the original formula was but it is very apparent.
