NYFW: Caught in a Daydream at Charlotte Ronson SS2015 Show

charlotte Ronson spring presentation 2015

Backstage at Charlotte Ronson Spring/Summer 2015 collection, the nails stole the show! Lead nail artist Miss Pop for OPI showed us a fun way to do nail art by showing off some of your natural nail by creating a nail look showcasing negative space, with alternating cutout half moon shapes.

To complement the collection’s feminine color palette, Miss Pop used OPI pastel mint shade That’s Hula-rious! (Launching February 2015) on the hands and for the feet she used shade Bubble Bath with the addition of a fun daisy on the big toe. (Both manicure and pedicure looks were prepped with OPI Base Coat and finished with OPI Top Coat.)charlotte ronson daisy toe

Dani Fonseca for Temptu was created a washed rose tonal look with hits of shimmering radiance to match the collections inspiration of a a girl caught in a daydream of water colored femininity. Skyn Iceland’s founder, Sarah Kugelman was also backstage supplying the skincare for the models (all great makeup starts with great skincare!).

After prepping the skin, Fonseca, began the makeup process by priming the face with TEMPTU BASE Smooth & Matte Primer followed by a light layer of TEMPTU AIRpod Foundation and then their Invisible Difference Power was applied to the T-Zone, for a soft focus, matte finish.  TEMPTU AIRpod Highlighter in Pink Pearl, was then used in the inner corner of the eye, the “C” contour of the eye area, and underneath the brow bone. Followed by TEMPTU AIRpod Blush in Washed Rose to the eye lid and finished off with TEMPTU AIRpod Blush in Washed Rose, airbrushed onto the lips.

In classic Charlotte Ronson form, she opted to do a fashion presentation where the audience strolled around the models whil her sister, renowned DJ, Samantha Ronson played the show.

Ronson’s signature feminine flair permeated her designs. Floral prints and polka dots burst through the collection. Her esthetic consisted mostly of pastels using navy as a contrast in many of the garments. Ronson use of navy really amped up the sophistication factor in her collection. Brilliantly mixing patterns, she paired a flirty navy polka dot skirt with a floral spaghetti strap top. One of my favorite pieces in her collection was a mint embossed romper. Her designs were sweet and sleek.
